At 8:10 - 8:14 you pass a little old lady on your left, waiting to cross the road. This is my mother! This was taken 13 years after I last sawher and just a year before she died. You have no idea how much you have given me with these images. Thank you.
Prestwick Intl Airport - my first look at Scotland when arriving to serve in the U S Navy at RAF Edzell.in 1967....Such wonderful, gracious people and a beautiful country.
+WC86EVA Was RAF Edzell in Scotland? I was in the Navy too and then the Air National Guard. We stopped over at Prestwick in 2005 when deploying to Kuwait with our C-103s. You're right on the money, beautiful country and wonderful people. I will never forget that place.
+HAZMAT FireGuy Yes, RAF Edzell was in Scotland, Base is now closed. It was near Brechin, Aberdeen, Glasgow. 2 of the best years of my Navy life. Made many Scottish friends - some have visited me in NC. Still in contact after all those years. Would love to visit again, but age and health will not allow me. Thank you for your service.
WC Eva Thank you for your service too. That's great that you kept in touch so well with the people you met. How long were you in for and what was your rate?
Quite a delay in replying....Don't spend a lot of time on RUclips. I was in 4 years and then 2 years in reserves. Would loved to have made it a career, but my wife didn't like moving every 2 years. I was a Yeoman.....worked in personnel and administrative. Had planned to strike for CT, but never got the opportunity. But guess I did pretty good from E1 to E5 in 3 years. Hope all is well. I live in NC. What part of the country do you live?
WC Eva Hi, great to hear from you again. I live in Michigan. I know what you mean by moving in the military, that was a real drawback, especially if you were stationed some place nice and had to leave. I enlisted in the Navy when I was 18 and had every intention of making it a career but decided to get out after my initial enlistment and go into the reserves. I was stationed in Norfolk, VA aboard the aircraft carriers USS America and George Washington. I had some great times and great experiences but also some rough ones. I was an ABH (Aviation Boatswain's Mate-Handler) which I didn't want to be and didn't like doing. Ended up in the Air National Guard and retired last October. Overall I had some of the best experiences of my life in the military and don't regret it, even though there are things I'd change if I could do it over. I hope all is well with you too, have a great Memorial Day.
Glad you like the video. I've had HD for a while now but problematic internet connection made it a pain to upload. Thanks for watching and commenting :-)

David, I can't tell you how pleased I am to have been able to do this for you. Thank you for your kind comment.
Love this video. I felt that I was right there. Have taken these streets often from Ayr to Prestwick and vice-versa. Thanks!
