His invasion and annexation of Glenbrook was swift to prevent large casualties that would stir the local population to rise against him. Gustadolph actually ran the annexed territories quite better than the Glenbrook family so much so that the peasants and nobility actually wanted to be ruled by Aesfrost. Heck if Thalas and Erika weren't so stupid and brash, then the Wolforts and the rest of Glenbrook would have surrendered peacefully. Even when you surrendered Roland, they messed up the negotiations that would have secured the rest of the kingdom and only provoked them and fell into Hyzante's influence.
They death made me a little sad. They deserved it but... They were just children with a Bad uprising. Their mother probably let them to hate Frederica because she was a concubine daughter (Aefrost didn't really care about Rozellians so why them?). That hate and Gustadolv model learn them cruelty. Thalas didn't even knew hé could lose. Meaning all his life was giving to him on a silver plate. War was just a game. And when he saw Erika dying before his eyes he finally understood... That sadness and disbelieving in his voice "Erika... is Dead?". Same with Erika who couldn't even comprehend she was dying. They deserved it. I was glad to finally shut them up, but deep down I pity them. Killing Gustadolv was A-Ok though.

If you beat the game with no units even falling in combat for the whole game(I've only done it in very easy) you get the accessory plume of Immortality(50% chance to auto rez on death)(multiple times potentially unlike the rez ring

God this part broke me. Erador was more than willing to exchange his life for Serenoa but it wouldn't be enough time. I was frantic after the explosion and hoped that the writers would pull some bullshit and bring back Serenoa. I was too attached. I couldn't play anymore of the game after this. Didn't have the willpower to do the other endings lol
Once this theme started playing during Frederica's ending, I just knew what was going to happen... It's the perfect track for this scene, I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it.
The guitarist is Takayoshi Ohmura, easily one of the best guitarist prodigies from Japan, he also plays in BabyMetal. What a treat to listen to him throw his hat into video games and this soundtrack.
It's a shame that the guitar doesn't play a larger part in the piece as a whole. Just some sustained notes and minor embellishments. No licks, solos, or melodies.
The guitar entries legit carry this song with their contrast. His performance differentiates it for sure, regardless of not doing much complex. Unforunately not present for most of it.
Every song and choice from this game is a masterpiece in and of itself, it just shows the dedication to how much they loved both octopath traveler and triangle strategy as their own projects most of all

I'm guessing this is from Utility? I never did that one. Couldn't bring myself to do it. I did Morality > Liberty > Conviction as I had all party members (except Travis) by then.

Ok I did NOT expect this to play during Frederica and Serenoa's duel after choosing to surrender the kingdom to Hyzante, this made that whole scene 10x better

With the music and everything, this is obviously supposed to be a dramatic fight, but one of the things I remember from it most clearly is the camera going between all enemies making their move, then cutting to Thalas at the bottom of the bridge, asking "How did this happen?" in the most insulted voice I've ever heard from any voice actor.
[SPOILER ALERT!] I believe this is the song that played in the battle against Erika and Thalas on the barricaded bridge in front of the bridge to Greenbrook castle. When it started rolling, it totally elevated that battle for me, adding to its epic-ness. Love the piano littered throughout the track amidst the electric guitar and parts of the main theme song! You feel a real urgency and drama with this song, thanks for the extended version! The two Erika and Thalas were weaker than I expected but their minions were quite annoying.
This game really reminds me of Fire Emblem Gaiden/Echoes (those's warping witches, for example), with that. The AI has everything in its toolset to completely annihilate you, but it just chooses not to x)

Once you start facing bosses that can spawn then en masse, it becomes a race to kill them before RNG decides to throw all the witches on the map on the one guy with nonexistent speed/magic resistance.

I feel like the battle against Avlora after voting on blowing up the ship(s) would've been a lot more tense if I didn't have Narve, Ezana, and Piccoletta repeatedly electrocuting the giant pool in the middle.
the flow of that fight was weird with her and her soldiers tensely standing in that fountain for awhile as I zapped them for as long as I could before we kill each other in a corner
@@VonFirflirch Ultimately, that strategy is about stunning as many enemies as possible, and the damage is kind of secondary. It doesn't really work if the only enemy being hit by it is a boss immune to paralysis, but if you can bait regular enemies into the pool and hit them with lightning, there's a very good chance you're disabling several at once, which is big. Admittedly though, it's far easier to abuse on the few fights at the Source map.
Honestly i played the game there is 3 differents ending + True Ending (Golden ending) after you finish each ending for each character. The game is like 160 h of playing equivalent. I thought it was short in the first time but when you will experience the true ending you will see how big he is.
@@chloewinnaa1515 I liked it quite a bit. It had similar combat to Tactics Ogre, and that other guy was right about the multiple endings so it was a lengthy experience. Speaking of Tactics Ogre, the remake is out and I really want to play that, because I love the originally so that might be better to scratch that tactical rpg itch.

I cheesed that map pretty hard. I was down to just Frederica and Hughette at the end, and had them come down the ladder to coax him into range while the other pummeled him from a distance. Ah, good times.

Serenoa’s VA rarely has even the slightest bit of emotion, but when he does, holy catfish, he’s good.

Got to this part recently, it felt extremely hype. It was so satisfying using Frederica to take down Erika/Thallas as revenge for them bullying her.
Whenever I am going for a top set during training, I play this Masterpiece.
Imagine the twins on the bridge on hard, but they play optimally against height abuse and Anna solo tactics.
