Hot DANG. That is not a shelter. That is a bunker. It is extremely well constructed. While watching I was trying to think of ways to ease the carrying of tools, stone, and timber. Still made my back hurt. If I were only 50 or even 40 years younger. ............. Good job.
I can now say that I've watched Superman build a stone and log house. I don't know how you found the energy, but the build is just incredible. Amazing job!
Greetings from Argentina! I loved how the shelter turned out. The only thing missing to add the final touch to the video a was a dinner and sleeping inside the shelter. Aside from that, excellent job.
I feel the same way but bad weather prompted me to leave early. There was a snowstorm. Moreover, I was running low on food stuffs because most of it had been stolen by squirrels. Anyway, thanks for watching.
Hi from Montreal, it's incredible how much work and courage, not counting energy it took to build your cabin. GREAT WORK and VIDEO, My wife Louise and I enjoy nature, and we passed years of our lives camping. Louise recently passed away.,but the memories remain. I miss her so much. Enjoy your life and stay healthy. Take care. Signed Jim. 🏚
Thanks for your feedback. Yeah, building stone shelter isn’t easy and requires a lot of work and patience. RIP Louise! She would have been a good partner to you.
Nice work, although there are loads of vertical joints. Meaning there is zero strength in the structure. You should have read up on dry stone walking or wall building with stone in general. A hammer and a few chisels and this could have been impressive. The time this must have taken you I'd love for it to be done properly. For you to enjoy it for many many years. This building could have stood a long time. This will last a few years at most. The logs should have been charged in a fire as well to help prevent the moisture eroding the wood.
Beautiful Stone and Wood Cabin, Shelter. A few more thins added and it would make an awesome place to live, or visit for a season. I love the sound of the water. I did not see a chimney internally for heat or cooking. Is this something you might add? Very awesome Build, and where might this place be?😊
I’ll have to second this. Originally, I planned to have a slope roof but because of snowstorm and vicious weather, I turned to flat roof and left. I didn’t want to be trapped in the snow for long stretches without food stuffs.
My son and I are going to hit our local mountains here soon to find our spot for a little cabin. Just not sure if it will be free standing, or dug into the side of a hill/ mountain or just a Fallin tree. But should be fun and experience for my son. Creating something from what nature left laying around for you.
I am exhausted just watching this guy doing all this heavy lifting and mixing dirt as cement to hold all those small and large stones together. It looks like it's going to be a great looking shelter when it's finished
Think Wilderness that is a great name for a bushcraft survivalist adventure youtube channel. I am glad i came across your channel. #OutdoorsBeyondNature1980 8:09
Was this stone walled cabin very warm in the sun? I was in a stone walled house once and it was as cold as a refrigerator. It was a big house and took a long time to warm up. A hole month to be exact with gas heaters. I think those was were 3 feet thick walls made of stone. Looks like the door hinge pins should be on the inside for security, but you aren't worried about that anyway. You could just cover them up with some 1 by 1. Oh the door opens outward, so you can't do that... Great job on creating a cabin though. It seems nice for a survival place...
I made a fireplace in one of the corners of the stone house but couldn’t get time to film it due to unexpected heavy snowfalls and my early out of the area.
Boy, that was a workout,,,, Great Result,,, don't look like your 1st time... I would have had trouble building that at 18-20 yo.... And where are you, its beautiful there... I'm in US ,,, ,, , I found it,,, you also ,,,, Colorado it looks like but that's a guess.....
Please tell me in the comments which country you are following me from?

Thank you for not playing music, natural sounds are the best
This guy deserves a SPECIAL AWARD for his Stone House.
❤😢
Why?
He gets a thumbs up from me 👍
Stone retains heat and insulates. Thumbs up from me.
👍👍
USA here and i love the fact you are letting the natural sounds be the background instead of annoying music. Great work on the shelter!
Thank you very much!

Debarking, he forgot, keeps the wood from rotting and bugs. Nice thick walls, with small fire should keep him nice and warm during the winter months.
Fireplace was there but I couldn’t show it properly in the video.
@@thinkwildernessBeautiful work, love the rocks ❤🎉
@@thinkwilderness Final shot should have been from a distance with smoke coming from the chimney.

Incredible. This house will still be standing 2 or 300 years from now. Very nice build!
24 months to three centuries sounds right
how do you cut those big tree ! How do you put them vertical !

I am from Canada. You did a great job by yourself, caring all those stones and cutting the tree. With only hand tools.
Thanks and welcome
You did a great job on your stone - wood cabin! You're an amazing person! God bless you! Cheers!
Thanks, you too!

Some people suck. 😢. I know how it feels. ❤. We need time to be alone and repair our shattered hearts 🥰
i would have loved to see how he got that log upright
I was thinking same thing. Sure it wasn't easy being by himself

I guess he can’t give you all the secrets😂
With effort and other logs ...duh!
You are a strong guy nice job
Absolutely love the way you did the stone work and the use of the giant logs. Going to be a beautiful cabin when all done. Great job.
Awesome, thank you!
2:21 Crazy how pounding that stake shook the camera so much. Even dropping rocks down shakes it.

Yeah, I left because of a snowstorm that hit out of nowhere. Moreover, I was running low on food stuffs. Most of it had been stolen by squirrels.
❤🎉
Without a fireplace is not quite survival in winter
Fireplace is there but I couldn’t show it properly in the video.

Hello everyone

I am exhausted just watching this guy doing all this heavy lifting and mixing dirt as cement to hold all those small and large stones together. It looks like it's going to be a great looking shelter when it's finished
Thanks for the view
Show! Foi usado troncos das árvores já caídas. Isso é ótimo para o Meio Ambiente! Parabéns! Preservar as árvore nativas, é essencial! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Looks like a permanent shelter, build to last.
Thanks for sharing, job well done❤👍
Thanks for watching!
Looks good, can someone tell me the purpose of upright logs in the walls.
Amazing combination of wood and stone, very impressed by the sheer amount of work. Very satisfying result!
Best regards from Germany
Thanks for your visit and input.

the shelter is very sturdy, I like it
❤🎉
Why did you leave the bark on the logs? Log cabin building 101- REMOVE THE BARK….
Probly to tired at this point to worry bout the bark
Super travail, efficace, esthétique, fonctionnel... félicitations 👍🏻

Fantastic 😊. Armchair critic here: I would've made the door a lot heavier, against bears and cats 😬.
That's a great idea!
WOW, that is quite the accomplishment, WELL DONE…from USA, east Tennessee.
Thank you for your feedback.
A perfect and warm shelter.
❤❤❤Hello, what a beautiful cottage you made

I made a fireplace in one of the corners of the stone house but couldn’t get time to film it due to unexpected heavy snowfalls and my early out of the area.

Thanks for watching. I used to build shelters at the age of ten and take great interest in them. Stay blessed 🥲
He work so hard for this shelter but he makes a horrible door which is not safe and strong enough.
Great❤❤❤

Exellent built. Greetings from Germany.
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks for your input.
Very Neat!
Thank you! Cheers!
I love the build, but I would be careful of the roof..
It could collapse if too much weight is applied, such a snowload.
Blessings to you ✊
This is a real survival shelter , not those cabins made out of twigs. Good job sir.
Good luck 🎉
Je vous regarde depuis la France. Très beau travail 👍😉
oh very good
Near the end in your video (at 55:06, a clear view of a path of many big rocks, are you located at an old flood channel? Please check.
There is a seasonal creek nearby the stone house. It’s safe as it gets flooded rarely.
AWESOME!
you are very good
Good for you
Hello from Nigeria. Great Job there
Hey, thanks!
