The narrator is Ralph Snelson. His voice has a warmth and crackling like a camp fire the sounds of which just soothes the soul. Cant go wrong with Jules Vernes.
@SW-hu7qw pretty sure he's right. Listen to the other uploads, they do the same annoying tedious script on each new chapter. Robotic. Pretty cool though that AI has gotten to the point that people argue about it.
A well loved classic 👍💕 I read this book as a 4th grader (1966). It made an indelible mark on my imagination and fed a thirst for reading that led me to read voraciously for many years. ✌👍
Thank you for a well read story. It would probably be called round the world in 80 hours. I was also amused at the train being stopped for 3 hours by the buffaloes. It certainly shows how large the herds where. The passenger might of complained about stopping for them but now leaves will stop trains
That's what I've been doing recently. 😁 My 3rd shift job gets boring and it doesn't require much communication, seeing as I work with a partner. He puts his headphones on and jams out. I put mine in and I usually listen to a lecture or more recently, ebooks.
Thank for your dedication to do this . I really know how hard it is to read a book. It really helps me . I don't know how to thank you for your dedication. Love you btw .
Very Nice deep voice with good inflection! I generally avoid Libra-box recordings because some of them are so bad, I don't have the tolerance to listen to a badly narrated book. But I wish Ralph didn't give the entire title & Libra-box recording credit at every chapter. And the way he says the french Monsieur is too funny. I think he is reading it in English instead of giving it a French pronunciation. It's actually endearing. Very impressed that Ralph pronounced Weber & Wasatch correctly. Listened to a profession narrator for a historical Book about the Railroad and he keep calling Weber Canyon Web-er, instead of Wee-ber. Drove me nuts. I am totally enjoying the reading of this book and think, with a little coaching, Ralph could go professional. Great Job!!! Someone said he also narrated "The Time Traveler." I'll be listening to that one next. You have a fan, Ralph Snelson!!!
And where is the scene where they float in a hot air ballon over the snowcapped mountaintops? Where they scoop some ice from the snowcap into the ice bucket to keep Fog's champagne cool ;)
I had to hunt for a nice recording. The first one was nice but there was a horrible buzzing in the background. The second was nice but too fast. This one is nice.
Great reading. If I had only one complaint it would be that every chapter the narrator repeats the same lines. About what book this is and by what author and so on. Is that necessary? I like the pause to say what chapter it is and the title of, but all that extra stuff is too much, imo.
Very nice reading. I have a hard time reading books like this. I especially enjoyed the parts in Nebraska, since that’s where I live. Omaha was mentioned so many times! I had to laugh at the pronunciation of Fort Kearney. We pronounce it car-knee. But overall a very good reading.
