Watching from Dallas, Rebecca! Thank you so much for telling your subscribers about my Debby tool. We have three other styles and price ranges and even sizing for small hands I love it and thank you for supporting my small business.
Thank you so much for introducing me to your amazing tool! I really love using it and it has really helped me get a better stamped image especially for large images! Plus it looks super cute on my desk. :)
Thanks for this! I'm late to the party but just bought these markers. I did NOT follow your advice and bought the big set! My bad. I hope I don't regret it! But I kinda do have full set syndrome a little bit! LOL! Anyway, thanks again for this review. 😄
I keep looking at these markers, I may try the smaller set like you did. Seems like there’s a good variety of colors there. And your card turned out just great!!
I am very happy with the assortment of colors in this set and the quality of the markers overall! I am going to see how much I use them for a while and then think about getting the larger set, but I'll definitely let you all know if I do!
You did so well with this. I wasn’t sure if the watercolor was working with the background of water drops but it turned out fantastic. I think it is hard to do but you conquered it!
I just ordered a small set hoping to compliment ones I already have, I hope I like them, they sure are vibrant. lol....”that doesn’t help you at all”.... you just crack me up. I think I would have a heck of a time not having a million bloopers, ha! Ty for this. I most definitely like swatching, helps a ton!
They really are! I'm always trying to get those bright looks from Tombow, but struggle to get the effects I want, but these were super easy to use and included a bunch of my favorite colors. I hope you like them too! LOL, thanks so much for watching to the bitter end lololol :) Totally agree, although I am not great at it, swatching really helps me understand the colors I have.
I saw the pilling which happened with your paper; you had used almost no water and that pilling should not have occurred. That being said, were you aware that there is a right and wrong side of watercolor paper? I was not and when such pilling occurred with some pieces I was doing, this came to my attention. Usually, the right/correct side of the paper, whether cold or hot press, is the side facing you (up) in the pad/block before removing. This may have happened to you, after cutting a sheet down to your desired size, the right/wrong sides may have gotten mixed up. I have this particular brand of watercolor paper, along with others, and although it’s not Fabriano or Arches top quality, Arteza isn’t bad. Paper pilling is the bane of watercolorists! Love your video and will check out these Karin brush markers.
Thank you for telling me that! I actually used the “wrong side” on purpose because it was less textured and I figured I could get a better stamped image on it! I had no idea that side would be more likely to pill! I think I’ll stick to the Tim Holtz watercolor paper because I like the bright whiteness of it.
Hi Rebecca - I just ordered a set of Brushmarker Pros, so very happy to see your demo. Here's a watercolor tip. For the orange that you said you didn't like the lack of shading (11:13), when you lay your original color down, try going from light (open area, away from color) and add water and blend toward the color line, not away from it. The color will spread through the water in gradations. I picked up the tip watching a watercolor artist. I used to blend the same way you did here as its the way we typically swatch colors. But you can control the shading better. You can see you picked up some technique with the other oranges and produced a nice effect. Another tip, have a paper towel handy to lift color you aren't pleased with. The technique works with standard watercolors, we'll see how it works with the Brushmarkers. Love your color choices for the card, complimentary orange & blue.
As a Karin I love these. Have the big box for more than a year and they stay in perfect conditions. Love to color with them and write. The colors ste bright and beautiful
LOL, Karin! Oh, that is so awesome to hear. You are definitely making me lean in the direction of getting the full set. I definitely love the colors and they seem pretty easy to use!
I have been doing as much reviews of the karin brushmarkers and by far they are the ones that i am after so i cannot wait to be able to get them :) The card looke so amazing ! You also have a new subscriber hehe. and LOVED the outtakes at the end hehehe Much love from australia
I have tried tons of watercolor markers and these are by far my favorite!! Thanks so much for stopping by, watching and subscribing! So glad you are here.💕
@@RebeccaKeppel The more i watch them the more i am like yes must have lol. You are so very welcome :) I have start to binge watch hehehe. I so glad to have found you and your channel so much info and giggles.
They were moving fine on the watercolor paper, but the image was so small that might’ve been why. I will give the Bristol a try next time though! Thanks for the suggestion! And thanks for watching :)
Strathmore watercolor paper is fantastic with brushmarker pros. No harsh lines when you're blending! I really hated using my brushmarkers at first, they definitely only like certain paper 👀
Loving this review! I have the Arteza watercolor pens and struggle with them sometimes - and the colors are 'interesting'. I think I may be investing in some Karins!
I feel like I've tried them all! LOL....Tim Holtz Distress Markers, Tombows, Zig Clean Color, Arteza, I even tried some Michaels brush pens. Never completely sold on any of them, but for me, these really made me happy! I know everyone has personal preference, but for sure these are mine. :)
Beautiful card. Do you know if these are similar to the affects you can get from the real brush pens from Zig? I know the zig brush is more brush like.
Thank you! I prefer these to the Zig brush pens. For me these have more opaque color (which is my personal preference) and I like the stiffer tip because it allows me to add fine details. But all that being said, if you already have the Zig and enjoy them, I don't think you would need these too.
sorry to be off topic but does anybody know a way to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the password. I love any tips you can offer me
@Jaxton Gunner I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im trying it out now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Toward the end you said you might consider upgrading to these markers. If you like the Karin markers, what are you upgrading from? I don't have markers yet, so I don't know what to buy and need some help. Thank you!
I meant I would upgrade to the full set of Karin markers which I think is 60 colors. :) Choosing a first set of markets depends on what type of coloring you want to do. For watercolor I’ve tried Tombow, Zig Clean Color, Tim Holtz Distress Markers and so far these Karin markers are my favorite. For alcohol marker coloring I prefer Copics, but others have success with other brands.
I’m considering getting these, but I’m not sure if I should get the 12 or 26 set. I already have a considerable tombow collection too. What do you suggest?
If you like bright, rich colors I would grab the 26. That's where I started and once I start using some of them up I will definitely get the large set. I like Tombows, but for me the Karins are easier to use.
I was always under the impression that you store pens tip side down to get all/more ink to the tip. That said, except dual pointed pens should be stored on their side so both tips get ink. Makes sense to me, so I wonder why they say tip up??
The first link in my RUclips description is for the 26 color set. That is what I am starting with and I do recommend it. It has plenty of fun colors, a bunch of neutrals and in addition a blender pen, making it 27 markers total. For those who want to dive right into the full collection, that is my second set of links and the third is for those who really cautiously want to try it out. (that one includes 12). For me personally, I recommend starting with a mid size like the 26 so you can get a real feel for the colors offered without spending an enormous sum on something that you don't end up loving.

I definitely don’t have watercolor skills and it shows lol, but I think anyone can still have fun with these and the colors are fantastic!
You always make it looks so easy. Thanks for the review.
I am NOT generally a watercolor brush marker person, so if these look easy it is definitely because they ARE! I really love them!

I recently bought the large set. I didn't have any luck at all on watercolor paper but I love them with Bristol smooth. Thanks for the the videos. =)

oooh good to know! I will try the strathmore then! Thanks!
I just bought the large set. I always loved tombow so wanted these too
I’ve never had much success with Tombows, but I found these super easy and I love the colors!
Just purchased a set. On sale at Amazon. Loved your video.
Yay! Hope you love them!

Thanks Renee! I’ve never done tons of watercoloring, but I really love the colors so I may start to do more!

They seem very juicy. I wonder if they might leak if stored tip down?
@@RebeccaKeppel Maybe when they've been used a while.
