- Hello one and all, time to shoot the shit once again! Tackling some metal remasters that I straight up hate, and aren’t necessary. Shows are fun and all, but there are some things that just straight up bother me! Finally for the question I’d never think I’d ask myself so soon… am I - an old head?? I don't mind remasters as long as it's an artists intention to make changes and not the labels. It's always interesting to listen to what the artist originally had in mind or just think it should sound like now. What I do mind, however, is when the originals get the OG Star wars experience and vanish from earth. So now we're stuck with a hit or miss remaster and the original becomes more obscure and harder to find. Even worse, the remaster becomes the only thing available on streaming and new listeners are unknowingly getting a at best different experience or at worst, a worse experience.
@@budafuka I agree on it affecting new listeners 100%! Some remasters are great, but it sucks that someone new to an artists discography will have no idea how the original mix sounds.
When I see a dude with Metallica T-shirt I always have feeling that this is the only band he knows.

Remasters have ruined so many classic metal albums Dark Angel's Darkness Descends and Nuclear Assaults Handle with Care are ones that comes to mind horribly over compressed to shit and brick walled when they remastered them. ALWAYS seek out the originals, preach man!

I feel the same wearing the same shirt as the band, UNLESS someone buys the shirt there at the venue. Or if the shirt is a classic out of print shirt is fine i think. I only wear my Metallica shirts at home. Ha. But it's cool when my grandma wears her Metallica shirts. I feel bad when i take a quick video or photo. Ha. But you gotta enjoy the moment. Cheers!
Yeah if you buy a tour shirt at the show, it gets a pass! And you definitely gotta enjoy the moment, like I said if you record just once in a while, that’s cool in my book lol

That’s kind of a bummer too! I also don’t like when there’s a band photo on albums and they’re not wearing band shirts haha

Yeah those remasters were totally unnecessary, like you said, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
I’m not bothered by those kids playing Magic in the pit really, but I understand where you’re coming from. It just seems like a really horrible idea to me. Why would you want to play on the dirty floor of a venue covered in beer, spit and blood, and also risk losing your Magic cards?
The shirt things I get too. I’ll admit I’m guilty of this, I wore my Tomb of the Mutilated shirt when I saw Cannibal Corpse in April and I felt stupid as soon as I got in line to go inside. It was covered by my battle vest, so maybe that’s good lol.
Seeing someone at a concert in a Metallica shirt is like seeing someone out in public with an AC/DC or Ramones shirt, it just kinda screams poser for lack of a better word. Ironically though, I don’t have those thoughts when I see somebody at a metal show in an AC/DC shirt lol. I don’t know, what’re your thoughts on non-metal shirts at metal shows?

Don’t apologize man, I welcome the paragraph comments! Honestly, if I see someone without a metal shirt at a show it’s a tad disappointing, but I’d rather see that than a Metallica shirt any day hahaha or if it’s a random shirt that’s even better, for example, I once saw a dude wearing a Jennifer Aniston shirt at a hardcore festival, I thought that was hilarious 😂
