It sucks, because like, when youre trying to be genuinely nice and give compliments, creepos ruin it.
Like, i like making people happy. I like seeing that glow when someone gets complimented about something that they worked really hard on, or that theyre really excited about. But these days, i honestly am afraid to say ANYTHING out of fear of making someone uncomfortable.
I feel that, I always want to keep an open mind about that kind of stuff but I've been told a lot of times I'm not good at reading social cues or people's real intentions, so I'm always worried I'm putting myself in a situation I don't want to be in :,)
I do know there's kind people like you who mean it though! The creepy ones should really back off 😔

Once when I was 6 I was sexually abused by my cousin and I couldn’t escape, I was trapped for 2 days. I’m still trying to heal mentally but always be strong no matter what. I’m 12 now and have a supportive and loving family and still am trying to stay strong ❤

I have had several people text me VERY INAPPROPRIATE THINGS several times over my life. Most of these happened in middle school, and I'm currently in my freshman year of high school. When I was 12, I was invited to a group chat with my brother and some of his friends. They were about 14 at the time, and they would personally message me about things they wanted to do to me (I won't go into a lot of detail but it's not the kind of thing a 12 year old should be exposed to) I did know what they meant mostly at the time, but it was still really wrong of them. Literally a third of these people said these things to me. Later in middle school, they finally let me leave the gc (they kept adding me back, I couldn't leave) i blocked all of them except for my brother (for obvious reasons). I told this to my best friend, but then she said that she was friends with one of them and that they didn't "seem like a bad person" so she completely discredited my story and this is really one of the first times I'm telling this to anyone since then. We're no longer friends, but she and my abuser are. And he is still trying to build relationships with my friends to this day.
As a male, I can’t believe that my kind does stuff like this. People should not just let those intrusive thoughts win. If this ever happens again, let me know. I will call a meeting. The council will decide on the offender’s punishment.

Can confirm. I had this shit happen to me three times. Once, as a sixteen-year-old, when some random NPC tried to lure me in at a park. I was legit just minding my own business taking pictures of a some swans and some flowers when he was like "dOn'T bE aFrAID". Even at that age, I knew that was a red flag, so I bolted to the library close by, but what made this so much worse is that I was trying to be polite about it.
The second time happened a few months after I turned eighteen. Exams had finished, and my mom and sisters decided to go to a park to relax for a bit. I was sitting down all day, so I needed to stretch my legs. I was still within calling distance of my family when this happened. I sensed someone staring at me, so my dumbass looked for who it was. Lo and behold, an NPC was sat at a bench, pretending not to stare. He turned his gaze back at me, smiled and beckoned me over. I never booked it back to my family so fast in my life.
The third time actually happened a few weeks ago (I'm 22). I was walking to university after buying some pens from a dollar store on the way. Some construction workers were shouting some some shit I didn't get. I looked back at them, but then thought not to give them any attention and just skedaddled off.
You know what all these have in common? I'm a hijabi. I was a hijabi in all these cases.

I'm a few days late lol, but I remember this one time I was at a store with my mom and (sorry) a guy in a wheelchair passed behind me. Me thinking, "Oh, a guy in a wheelchair couldn't be that bad." Dude grazed his hand on my butt...I felt so uncomfortable so I have this fear of people ESPECIALLY guys and to top it off, I am now afraid of people in a wheelchair...I feel like he took that as an advantage so he could look innocent. Now I feel stupid and not telling my mom what happened...Yeah, that's my story so remember that you're not the only one going through stuff :)

I was also harassed by a guy in a wheelchair, he was a classmate. As he had a disability, I helped his caregiver to avoid sports classes, I bought snacks or chatted, I was talking to him when out of nowhere he pulls the strap of my bra and says I'm too pretty to wear bangs, my hairstyle always has bangs. I was speechless at the time, even though we were both 12 years old at the time I had no idea what that was but I felt so bad, luckily some girls came and asked me to talk, I don't know if they realized but it helped me very . Since then I feel disgusted when I look at this one, because unfortunately we are still from the same city

i had one when I WAS 13 A MINOR still am. but i was in the city and there was this waking behind me so my mum walked behind me. this dude came up and said you look pretty. me and my mum BOLTED down the street and this dude finally went away. probably one of the scariest life experiences
I've been harassed multiple times and I just turned 15😢. I look a lot older than my actual age I'll admit but this has happened multiple times when I'm walking home in my UNIFORM. I've been whistled at by construction workers on buildings, harassed by food vendors.... One time I was so scared cos I was in a taxi by myself and the GROWN man who was driving kept saying some really creepy stuff to me. Or when I walked past some police officers and I heard what they said about me and the dress I was in😞. That encounter made me so sad cos they're supposed to be there to protect me from stuff like that. 😢. I have so many other instances and it's sad cos many of them happen on my way from school.

I was out walking back from school and i was walking in the alleyway down to my apartment and a white truck went past me, i thought nothing of it because its around the time of day where people either leave or come back for work, i thought that until he stopped his truck and got out walking towards me and then he said "hey little girl, wanna come hang with me at my apartment, your so cute you know that?" do j didn't take a second to say anything back and i was running away as fast as i could and he started chasing after me and he was saying "c'mon i just wanna hold you in my arms little baby" and i'm glad i brought my keys because i quickly opened my apartment door and slammed and locked it, and when he saw that he walked away, that happened to me only a few months ago, STAY SAFE OUT THERE ❤

I was harassed repeatedly during my final year in high school, and unfortunately this was by someone I used to be friends with. They wouldn't stop hugging me and drawing pictures of us together, even when I politely told them to stop. And my teacher said that "he just had a crush on me," despite repeatedly telling her I wasn't comfortable with what he was doing. She was useless anyway, because when my mom planned a meeting to deal with the situation, SHE LEFT TO GO TO A DIFFERENT ONE. I've never seen a teacher so completely ignorant to the well-being of one of her students. Thankfully, after a good long hour of my mom screaming at everyone else who was there, the boy finally left me alone.

She sent a kid to the principal's office when we were discussing Down Syndrome and they laughed at one of the pictures of the kids in the book. Yet when someone repeatedly says they don't like how another student is constantly invading their personal space, that's when you think nothing's wrong with the situation? I just started college for less than 2 months, in the past my parents will take me to the school I went, so after college started I started walking to school, I use train, my dad told me that if someone is touching me in the train I should just stand up and walk away, but guess what ?? This country's people train a lot, we barely even have space to sit, everyone is kinda squished, so how ??
There was this time where a middle age man walked to me asking where I study and if I need lessons for math, I told him no I don't need it and I study at what college, he told me he works there, I asked him if he knows this app/webside used for quiz for math in the college and he didn't respond (that's the first red flag), the train came, we all got squished in by the people from the back, this man was behind me. At first it was alright until he adjusted himself into a certain position where his pp will be on my butt (he was having the horomones.) So I tried to move away my butt and he P.U.T. I.T. O.N. M.Y. B.U.T.T. AGAIN. I tried to move again for several times but he always has it on me. The lady that sits in front of me looked at me in the eyes and use her eyes to tell me to move, at this train stop he said to me "I'm getting down here, are you getting down??" I told him no and I will be getting off the next stop (I should have got down in that one but I didn't), he walked out and I was FINALLY free, I talked with the lady in front of me and the other ladies aside for a little bit, and I got off.
Before this I got harrased another time (studying college and at the train stop too), but it's a little different and I don't want y'all reading my comment for too long

The only time I was ever catcalled I was in Florida and walking out of a building which had a lot of stuff in it but we had gone there for a torture museum (we're a really dark group) and a couple of guys no more than 30 years old started flirting with us from across the street (I was with my friend and his mom) and I just laughed and pointed at the museum's sign and grinned evilly as we walked away their flirting stopped real quick

even as a male ive experienced this before and it was by someone who i thought was my friend we were sitting beside each other on the bus and he started touching my thigh and i told him to stop and he tried to gaslight me and say "if you were really my friend you would let me do it" and the then he tried to shove his hand down my pants but i was able to stop him and luckily my bus was at my stop and i quickly ran off the bus and then after that i never talked to him or sat next to him on the bus ever again and i never told anyone about it.

I been digitally harassed. I was only 10 or 9 at the time and my mind was kinda innocent back then. I was the sweetest and had no clue what was going on. Then some random girl on Roblox(yes I play Roblox) walked up to me showing a lot of skin asking me if they wanted to date and stuff. I obviously said no because i had no clue who they were. I said I had a possibility of being way younger than them and then they said age is just a number. I felt very disgusted and afraid as the woman got closer to me. I knew this was a red flag so I told my parents about the harassment because I was so sweet and had no clue how to stand up for myself that well. That day I saved myself from creepy people. I have a friend who went through something similar. When she was 7 an old man (around 70 she thinks) exposed himself to her and asked if she wanted to come into his car. I'm so happy she was smart enough to say no and run away to an adult.

When I was in 4th grade(I was 10 yrs old) I had to walk home from school. One of the days I was on my way back home, three men were walking across the street from me. I was wearing my big puffy winter jacket and snowpants. They repeatedly kept saying discusting remarks of what they wanted to do to me. In the moment I was scared and alone. I told them to leave me alone and f off because I was feeling uncomfortable. After that they got mad and started to walk towards me. Luckily my house was close enough so I could quickly run off and get away from them. The second I made it home, I remember crying in my moms arms for what felt like hours.

There was this weird girl who was getting WAY too close to me. I didn't know who she was, but I knew she was very mean to other girls in high school. I was sitting in the lobby and she asked me what I thought of her body (out of nowhere)... I stuttered like crazy and said "I don't know?!?!". She then proceeds to catwalk around me and try to be "seductive..." it was very, very creepy.
As someone who wants to find a loving, respectful girlfriend... that broke me for a long time. I am painfully single and sometimes I look back and say "am I just viewed as an object?" I never understood how women felt until I got harassed myself. That woke me up. Heck, some people saw what happened and did nothing. I reported the girl and she didn't get punished. She just had to "stop talking to me." Like bro if I did something like that to a woman, I'd be expelled...

I’m a high school freshman and I do track, we weight lift sometimes so I would stick with my friends. There is a sophomore on the team who is kinda a creep, but most of the guys on the team ignore us when we say that because "He’s to friendly for that". He is also one of the faster runners and close with the coach. Anyways, me and my friends were weight lifting and he kept on staring at us. And, like, not in a normal way. And he would come over to us and get really close to us girls to correct our form, especially with squats, like he literally would not leave us alone. He also would never help any of the guys fix their form. So me and my friends would go outside, and we have some guy friends who thought we were being paranoid, and said that the person would never do that. Anyways he hasn’t gotten punished yet.

This story borough back a strange memory from when I was a freshman in high school. There was this girl in my Spanish class who would act really suspicious around me. She would say borderline sexual remarks to me, which thankfully I never understood because I was exceptionally dumb to that kind of stuff back then. Anyways, one day my class went outside for a walk around the campus. As we were getting to the front doors, I heard snickering behind me. I turn around, and this girl is incredibly close to me and about to kiss me (I also want to mention that this girl has a bf). When she notices I’ve turned around, she says “I guess you discovered the secret love” and walked away with her clique laughing as they left. I always had problems with my looks, and this was the final nail in the coffin. I started eating nothing in the hopes I would lose weight, but I ended up getting worse. It took a lot to recover, and I really only understood what this girl did to my mental health 2 years later
Moral of the story: people can be assholes and don’t let those kinds of people take advantage of you
As a hijabi girl, I have been exposed to these situations several times, and I do not want to go into details.
Does this mean that my hijab and loose clothing are useless? No, no, no, dear, it makes a big difference in many ways
Blame those who use clothing as an excuse for harassment

So heres my harassment story that I feel comfortable w/ sharing with you guys 🥺💙:
I was in high school and too young to understand how hormonal teenage boys can be.
I had this classmate in my class named F. F and I chatted here and there but I’d say we were more so acquaintances than friends. One day he sat in front of me
(in those weird high school desks where the chair is connected to the small desk and you can only sit down through one side but not the other 🙄 who remembers those days? 😂)
and I remember him asking if I liked anime (Yes I’m Asian).
I said it’s something I grew up with (like pokemon, sailor moon, etc) and thats when things got weird. Of course I’m aware of the fan service anime shows bring but as a girl (and therefore not the targeted audience for those scenes) skip it or ignore it as I’m completely uninterested in those parts.
I don’t remember entirely how the convo went but I remember him asking if I’d ever worn short shirts before like they do in the anime shows and I just didn’t know how to answer.
I said “um, no. Thats just not for me”
And he replied saying “maybe you should”
Next thing you know (because he was positioned in front of me and he turned around to talk to me) he grabs the sides of my desk and started to press down on my desk and tilt it toward him at an angle so that I (who is on that connected desk chair and doesn’t weight much ) starts to lift off the ground (think of it like a see saw) and then he starts to do an up and down motion faster so that I’m moving up and down
I didn’t understand what was happening (it was so random and no one was around) but what I DID notice was that he was staring at my chest as he was doing that motion and that just didn’t settle right with me 😣
Again I was young so I really didn’t understand what happened but I felt gross and somewhat guilty for letting that happen? (Even tho it was not within my control)
Looking back at this now I think he had an Asian fetish from those animes and did that to me so that he could see my breasts jiggle and maybe simulate what it would be like if I was like…on…him?…yea ik gross 😖 I hate thinking about it, it gives me chills and to this day its so hard to talk about this. But I feel safe to do it here 💙

1- Im a boy and I'm dating my girlfriend, I won't share much but every boy she met she would get physically harrassed. Until we started dating it got less worse but it happens time to time. It caused me to have less sleep and got me overprotective and paranoid about any situation that could happen to her. It caused me to get a bit tougher against any other boy.
2- But then me and my girlfriend talked about it for a while and things got better. We are good now and very happy! I just wanted to share a little bit of her experience =)

Now onto my experience
I was walking around my school and now during these days i was in a hase as i was dealing with lets just say a bad person
I remember the first experience with this guy was he was with a friend(who keep in mind is in like 10th grade i was in 7th or 8th)
This kid who i knew was younger then me was with this guy when he catcalled me
I didnt think much of it because i was still in a dase...the next day he did it again alone(thr younger one)
I started becoming uncomfortable but didnt knoe ehat to do i remember thinking "what if hes trying to compliment me?" Then...it became worse
He started being really sexual towards me
And before you go and say i was "asking for it" i wasnt i was in a hoodie and sweats
To put it bluntly he looked at my chest then said to me "hot damn" in a tone that made me feel disgusted
I ran away and then came the thoughts
"Why dudnt i fight back?" "Why didnt i say stop?" "Why did he say that?"
I went to gym where i proceeded to be panicked i believe i had a panic attack ehich is another thing in itself
I started avoiding thr hall but nothing ever stopped...one day on a walk meant for women and to respect women he struck again...he got real close to me and whispered to me "why dont you suck my ####" or something i csnt remember i just knew it was something to do eith sucking his you knoe what
At the end of the walk my friend and a not so good friend came up to me and asked why i seemed off and i said what happened
They made me talk to a counselor and then sadly i didnt really get justice...he was only given a slap on the wrist...he was "forced" to write a good apology to me and hand it to me...
Yeah in these situations its hard to face ehat you deserve
I remember looking at the note and realized he wasnt sorry...i tore the note up the next day and threw jt out...to this day i still stay away from places i know he will be at

Sorry to hear that. sometimes what people don't realize is that almost anyone can learn to harass, even little kids which makes the situation even worse.
Fortunately for me, I live in a really wholesome, small little town, so I’ve never had to experience this. But I feel for everyone who has, because this is not ok. Even if it seems like a joke, you never know what someone’s already been through or may be going through. Just leave each other alone (unless you want to actually be nice ☺☺.) Suddenly he put his hand on my lap RANDOMLY! I wanted to leave but as I said he sat beside me so I sat at the window so I was trapped!! But a boy from my class saw everything and came over and the teenager left. My classmate then sat beside me and asked if I was okay. Be careful out there girls and guys!❤

I was in my first year of middle school we had open mic days in choir and I had just finished singing a song, felt good about myself, went to talk to an acquaintance when suddenly this random dude put his arm around me and went "yeah that's my girl!" And "this is my girlfriend!" I was bewildered, I did not like people touching me and since it was only the first couple weeks of school I really didn't know anyone that wasn't from my elementary, i literally looked up at this dude who was like a foot and a half taller than me despite us being in the same grade and went- "Who are you?"
The kids who went to the same elementary as me just giggled and laughed(they were the fake nice kind of people who would use any opportunity to make fun of me) at the predicament as I pushed off the dudes arm and walked away, confused and somewhat embarrassed.
Somehow this dude got this delusion that I was his girlfriend despite me never hanging out with him and always glaring at him whenever he would say anything inappropriate, for four freaking years I dealt with harassment from him and his friends, over of his friends had even gotten me backed up in a corner one day all alone, but luckily someone walked by or called him (don't really remember cause I was freaked out), he was laughing and smirking like he was some powerful person. It makes me feel like I was just something to toy with and not even a person.
One of the major things Mister delusional did that actually got the teachers attention(I was in my final year of middle school) was he suddenly sang a song at me and was gyrating/dancing against my table with my best friend next to me, my friend and I had sat in the back purposefully to avoid him and his friends, but then they insisted on sitting at the table directly in front of us(we were in science so the tables were just these long tables with these heavy tops, so it wasn't a four seater or anything in practice and we had stools rather than seats).
Honestly I was done, he'd already been harassing me much more harshly that month even making scenes like yelling at me "you said you loved me!" When I was never alone with him nor would willingly put myself in a situation to hang out. Not the point, but I didn't give him the attention he claimed and I don't get the obsession with saying I was his girlfriend, he was popular for some reason and on one of our teams, I was the weirdo and myself with all my friends were artsy, there was literally no correlation to be able to hang out let alone anything for him to have a crush on me other than enjoying making someone feel uncomfortable.
So when he did that inappropriate dancing on the table I suddenly slammed this heavy thing across the floor and started heading out of the classroom, the same friend of his that had cornered me before got up, grinning as he tried to keep me pinned between the tables in the walkway, but I just shoved another table out of the way and kept walking, the teacher was yelling at us for making a scene, I walked out, red faced in anger and slammed the door, I walked straight to the office and I do not remember the finer details from there, I was so mad and humiliated, I felt degraded and blamed.
They watched the cameras to match and confirm my story(but for some reason wouldn't let me watch?) And told me they would do something about it. I waited for days to be called back in cause they made it sound like there would be a meeting, but nothing happened, later my mom and my bestie who was sitting with me when it happened(don't blame her she always had my back, but it didn't stop them from messing with both of us, just for some reason they only directly harassed me, but I'm glad that she didn't have to go through that from them) told me I should've pressed them on it cause otherwise they wouldn't do anything, which confused me sense they always seemed to want to push non issues so often, but that's just something I learned.
Do yeah harassment sucks and it can feel so demeaning and make you feel crazy at times especially when no one wants to hear the truth from you. It was insane, he somewhat did the same in our freshman year of highschool, but it seemed to die off from there, after that he was just an unpleasant memory, but actually seemed to become decent I guess? I don't know, probably helped that his friend that was also a creep wasn't in the same school as us, but that's just a guess.

This has happened to my friend before and me at school. I wa walking in the hall with me friend, and my friend was pretty short and small to so people fault she was an easy target. Then a guy walked up to her and started to grab her arm. I smacked the guys hand and then I switched places with her so he would be next to me instead of next to her. People like that disgust me. I could see the fear in my friend's eyes.
this happened quite recently about two or three ish months ago, i have this friend i'll call tt (context tt has told me before that he had a crush on me but said he didn't anymore) we weren't all to to close at the time only sharing one class together and it was last period. We would talk during dismissal and occasionally when our teacher was not in the classroom and we had to wait in line outside, we share friends and im close with his girlfriend and some of his other close friends. I, tt and our friends make jokes you might lable as "sus" and we are all very sarcastic. I am very ticklish and it causes me physical pain when tickeled. tt would grab like tickle me and some of our friends on our hips, because it would hurt i would ask him to stop and explain to him that it hurt and i would get bruises and he would stop then but not permanently. One day when our teacher was not there and we were in line in the hallway he did this and our other friend i'll call him sticks called him out for doing it and calling it sexual harassment because i am a girl and tt is a boy and he can't be doing that. tt has also done this the sticks. Sticks also is aware that especially on my sides and arms i can bruise easily and tickling hurts me. Sticks talks to me latter asking me if i want him or us to tell our last period teacher about this and i told him that i don't think that tt will do it again considering sticks said he will tell our teacher. We left it at that and then the next day during first period sticks tells me that Mrs.d (not her real name) will probably talk to me because he told our last period teacher who told mrs. d. The next day during first period Mrs. d pulled me aside and talked to me and after said that she will talk to tt about this later. at the end of the day during last period tt got pulled out of class and told to go to mrs. d's room, when he came back much later he was laughing and when his friend also in that class asked him why he got pulled down tt said it was "because i was apparently sexually harassing (insert my name)" for the next cupple weeks he would make jokes saying it was not a bitlg deal and whenever any of our other friends would brush against me in the halls because it was crowded or something he would say something along the lines of "oh be careful (internet their name) your might get in trouble for sexually harassing (insert my name)" i still get slightly uncomfortable when he is close to me, but we are still friends and talk. I haven't really talked to my parents or anyone really about this and im not sure if i can consider this to be sexual harassment but i feel like i need to share it somewhere

I’ve had a couple of sexual harassment incidents and honestly it’s the worst because you get into that mindset that it was your fault not the person doing it. Like why didn’t I speak up for myself I’ve been told time and time again to defend myself if anything ever happened and I have a couple times, but there’s times where I was left dumbfounded cuz people I thought I could trust, people who I thought were my good friends go on to hurt me in ways I wish it didn’t. For those who have a situation of any kind where you feel is not right, please tell someone, anyone. I’m grateful for the support I have with my family, who understand and care abt my feelings and we’re there when I needed a shoulder to cry on. This was a rant oh gosh sorry but just be more in tune with your surroundings.🙏🙏
Thank you for the advice, Yoon! The thumbnail is crazy though, I hesitated to watch this vid because of it. I agree that people should mind their own business and leave people alone, but we as girls needs to make sure we are aware of our surroundings and should take that into account. Just to put some perspective though, women who try to goat or frame guys into looking their direction for a video is the very reason why there are so many harmful stereotypes around harassment in the first place. I'm mostly referring to gym TikTok videos I've been seeing recently. Everyone needs to lower their gaze and mind their own business, both men and women.
