WHY? He himself did not go out against Voldemort, but instead sent Potter, who is not very strong and, in addition, the Horcrux of the Dark Lord... And yes, you forgot to say that because of him, Harry had to participate in the Triwizard tournament and risk his life, and at that time he could have intervened since he is most likely Harry Potter's magical guardian. So why did he leave everything as it is.. because of him, he suffered all year and almost no one believed him and endured the ridicule of our dear Draco Malfoy. He, the future very great and bright wizard, ruined so many lives... My final verdict is that Dumbledore could have managed to defeat the Dark Lord himself, instead he ruined Harry's life, I don't understand why this happened.. he should have at least guessed because of him he suffered in the Dursleys' house and endured ridicule from Dudley and his friends... I think he was smart, he just buried his mind alive... And he was very stupid and believed Ron's words that only dark wizards study in Slytherin, and at that time Harry was very very stupid that he believed it, he could make sure that he was telling the truth or a lie... And there in the compartment, Harry did not behave as he amuses the boy who lived in the closet, he would not be gullible and even more kind and naive... But unfortunately this did not happen, he blindly believed everything that Ron said, because of him Harry could not make friends with Draco, maybe he was a narcissistic jerk, I think he could make a good friend and a good storyteller)

Even if you didn't want him to grow up in the spotlight why make him group up in a way he hates his home? I feel that Minerva is an underrated character honestly she looks out for Harry more than you know. And I think it is very stupid the he wanted a child who never grew up around magic even not knowing it existed to try and kill the thing that once almost killed him. And for Draco and Harry yes they could have been good friends actually it's disappointing to see that they were enemies he was only spoiled because it was the only thing he knew and I honestly hate Draco's father as he did force him to work for Voldemort and become a death eater when he clearly didn't want to.
