My first car was a '66 Beetle. I had a '72 Bug as well. Miss the sound of the engine. Visited Alaska in 2013. Beautiful place, but the only wildlife we saw was at a rehabilitation center.
My dad used to travel in the 1970s thru the baja peninsula in a vw bug, I grew up on those stories and then had my own adventures, now as a 35 year old man I hope that soon I can buy, bring up to specs and continue traveling in a beetle, great video, seems like a lot of fun!!
Oh wow! That’s awesome!!! Always love listening or reading about old adventures 😃, Hope you find a bug soon , would love to see !!! Thank you for watching and hope to see you on the next one Have a great week Oli and Tacia
That's awesome and thank you for sharing ❤️ Yeah the little compartment behind the seat and hearing the engine work hard was always one of my favorite , unfortunately I don't fit there anymore 😂 Good times ! Have a great weekend and hope to see you on the next video ! Oli and Tacia
Hi Oli and Tacia, first, I want to say what a pleasure it was meeting you both at the Alaska RUclipsrs Meet up, I had a great time there and I am sure everyone else did. I was right, somehow I got unsubscribed from your channel but, I am subscribed again. I really like this video, it was fun watching you camp with the Beetle. Many years ago, I had a 1967 VW bus, I really enjoyed driving it. I can tell you had a great time at Bear Creek. It is always nice to get away from everything and just enjoy Nature. Thanks for sharing.
It’s a 1955 , not 100% original but a great car to camp in 😄 Thank you again for watching and hope we get to camp a few more times this season Have a great week Oli and Tacia
Hi from North Carolina! I've been checking out your videos, as I've just discovered your channel. The Smoking & Canning of Salmon was epic. Nice trip and I LOVE that old VW Bug! Cheers!
Guys, what a great pleasure to watch this video. I'm writing from Mexico. I love vw bug and certainly, I never figured out how you would fit the car to sleep in. My first thought was "these guys are so brave to sleep in a tent with so many bears in the surroundings," but thankfully, you did it in the inside of the car. Nevertheless, it takes a lot of guts to do so. In the other hand, it was a great opportunity to travel a portion of Alaska with the most beautiful places and scenery. Please keep up enjoying life together on board your "klein wunder" (sorry, I don't have umlaut available). Kudos!!!
Hi Carlos !!! thank you so much for watching the video and the great comment , yeah the Bug ( Vocho 😉😃 ) is our little friend and we love taking it all over the place , Up the mountains , went to Canada , Homer etc.... We still need to do a winter camping trip soon. So you will see the bug a bunch more 😂 Hope you have a great and safe weekend . btw. we love Mexico and been to several places over the years , awesome place with awesome people . Where do you live and do you have a bug ? Oli and Tacia
@NORDLAND49 hello Guys!!! It's so nice to have news about you and the lil bug! I'm really excited because of your answer. We'll, I live in Cuernavaca, a city around 70 miles south of Mexico City. Weather here is warm but last year and now it is turning crazy because of heat waves. Scientists say that temperatures might raise up to 45 Celsius or so. About your question if I own a "vocho", unfortunately by now I don't. The only wheels I have now is a beautiful Honda Accord 2006 fully equipped. Just last Thursday, I was thinking of trading the car for a vocho, but I guess that the idea is way too crazy. The one thing I'm really impressed with is how the mexican culture for the volkswagen has impacted beyond borders. It caused me very much joy knowing that even no mexican people call the bug "vocho". Believe me folks, I'm really glad to know this fact. Please feel free to let me know if you have plans to visit Mexico soon to suggest some places to visit. Because of the political climate now, I think that it will be better to wait by December this year, once the waters are much more calming. Please take care yourselves and keep up the great work you do. Love you folks!!!!!!
This was an amazingly cool video on so many levels

Beautiful country and getting away is always a win win situation. Nice old VW, around a late 50's early 60's?
