Dear Gwen, you don't know me, but Peter did. Peter was my best friend who I kept in contact with at Wesley College and beyond until he became a commando, and joined the SAS. We saw each other a lot at school and on weekends. Although I wanted to become a commando and follow in Peter's footsteps, I couldn't. I was a chronic asthmatic. So I eventually became a Math and English teacher, and worked for over 30 years in HK. Although I got divorced from my first wife, i have two boys, David and Benjamin Kneale. I have a daughter from my 2nd marriage, Kiki. I have always wondered where my great and best friend Peter is. I wanted to contact him many years ago but never did. I regret this greatly. Recently my brother, Alan, who knew Peter as well sent me a summary of the 7.30 ABC report where you were being interviewed. My brother wanted to know who the SAS veteran spoken of by yourself and the interviewer was. He watched until the end when Peter's name was revealed. He sent me a message and I received a few days ago. I was greatly saddened to know what had happened, and that I could no longer see my great friend who I never forgot. I knew his family and Andrew his brother. One consolation I got from learning of his passing was that he now no longer suffers. I feel for you and the children and your loss. May God be with you and help you to live with the fond memories he gave you and to manage with this loss. Your friend Kristan (Bakity as Peter knew me) Kneale PS: I still substitute teach at Singapore International School, Hong Kong.
