Thank you Sree for calling out Rani Tarabai. She and her Maratha Generals Dhanaji Jadhav and Santaji Ghorpade essentially drained the Mughal treasury and made Aurangzeb run around for 18 years preventing him from ever returning to the the north. Tarabai was the daughter-in-law of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

I live in Maharashtra and I picked up commonly spoken Marathi a long time ago but when it comes to formal Marathi that governments use in their notices etc, I am totally at a loss.
Same with Hindi, formal Hindi is often beyond me. This is an excellent point from Abhijeet I wish people making policy would get this in their heads that the gap bwteeen Formal and informal versions needs to be bridged first before they try to indigenize or anything!

Visiting here was a happenstance, just adding few more cents here.
The most simple Tamil recipe without a MW oven, would be the filter coffee. It cannot be not enjoyed in any way if made in just simple steps.
The promise of industrializing India the way it happened in Eastern economies can be a far fetched if compared apples to apples, and when world is not going to be the same it had been for the last 60 years, one need not worry much. Electric propulsion based transport will alone probably create a totally newer set of industry culture which was not existent so far in any economies, which will be non dependent on existing manufacturing culture. India missed copper cable revolution, but it didn't matter much for communication when it grabbed optical cable revolution. India has to focus seriously on bringing in local manufacturing of all that are semiconductors in nature and this is still doable at current strengths.
There is a good quality research publication on arsenic contamination for rice cultivated in India and most rice fields irrigated in India through ground well water, has (according to that research) higher than accepted levels of arsenic. This has to be managed irrespective of brands calling themselves organic or not.
I guess the idea of usage of Iyer and Iyengar surnames evolved after the Bhakti movement. This arose with the duality philosophy that got promoted in a huge way during that period. Ideally, if the caste/community references has to go from current Indian society, people have to stop calling themselves by any varna and respect every other human as God as well.
Belonging to a country like India, would like to have an identity of individuals who are the most courageous, with who one can have a perfect scientific conversation (Hindu philosophy's fundamental is to have a scientific forethought), who are socially up in the ladder, who can respect any contrasting culture, who can be accepted by anybody in Universe, who are economically the very competitive, who are clean and tidy loving, who care for elders and others, who can speak handful of languages and, who can lead the world.
We need not fetishize a language as long as we do not write literature in that language. I would suggest the idea of putting an artificially designed social structure for a language just because there exists a social structure in a pluralistic nation is a wrong way to see it. Languages evolve naturally and should not be disturbed, whatever be their nuances in terms of their formality or informality. We as a pluralistic society (idea of country needs be tested over a long period of time, let us say few more hundred to thousand years), can exist together with bonds of mutual respect, mutual fondness for contrasting cultures and languages. The Hindu philosophy has been the sacred thread across and we can continue to strengthen inculcating the philosophy (without the dogmas).
Governance needs generalists with lots of scientific way of thinking and human feelings way of thinking, and the UPSC is perhaps doing a great job with that idea. Governance, as well, needs specialists and super specialists as being practiced currently, and we need them in professional numbers. Governance, as well, needs consistent self-check of merit, capabilities, objectivity of purpose and honesty (put all together in a word - professionalism) in a regular manner and this is where the torch bearer falters intermittently, but with newer generation of officers, newer generation of crowd which is putting even the ministers on heels, this faltering could be checked continuously. Governance just needs a strategy and problem solving for that strategy and it so happens that for lack of strategy, governance gets into all situations which it is not prepared for and this perhaps breeds wastage of manpower, intentions, courage and resources.

These computers can't talk to each other or run each other's programs, because even though the binary script is the same, they won't understand a thing, since the language would be different. Abhijeet if you will learn more about Rajmata Jijabai and Tarabai from Historian Ninad Ninad Bedekar you will realize only one virtuous/Yogi person (Dharmaveer, Yudhveer, and Danveer) is enough to enlighten a fire in every person. It’s strange a person who keeps account of every event in this world do not know anything about the Maratha Empire. You are good at post analysis when an event had happened but fails miserably in providing future strategic insights.

Very very very important points on Labour Laws, recreation, Education etc. these are very crucial areas but less looked into because not all in our great nation are or could be aware of so many specific things owing to day to day living. One thing I would disagree is the point of view that "language is being fetishized" SORRY - Samskrutam is great and our language is that ! Tamizh , Samskrutam and all regional languages are great. Every Indian should have knowledge of Samskrutam , Tamizh and regional languages. That is very important.
SAMSKRUTAM IS OUR LANGUAGE AND OUR TRADITION. This fellow just didn't get it. All countries SAVOUR their languages.

I don't know about language. Most of my friends don't even care about the language. In North we simply don't care. If I can get some stuff with using hindi or sign language. I am fine with it. I don't care about it after the deal. If I need to know some words I learn them.
Its all learn it if needed.
The language fetish in North was English vs Hindi (it was a colonial hangover) and it went out.
Even Bengalis are now learning Hindi because jobs in Bengal are getting scarce. Language is what it is. Just a tool. And even in Hindi speaking population no one state has Hindi as its locl language.

When asked which Indian Language cane developed to substitute English for teaching sciences, accounts, computer programming etc. Abhijitji said 'Binary'. But Japan ,China etc.have developed their languages and do all their activities in them. So Kindly try to host some session with linguists cum scientists to explore this possibility. If English cannot be replaced then we are better off making it our national Language rather than wasting time after Hindi or other regional languages. So it is a very important issue which we need to attend as a nation.

    • @pram6681
      @pram6681 3 года назад

@Hk Ps It needs to be discussed with computer scientists and linguists whether keyboard of 52 keys plus the vowels in Sanskrit is feasible. Also many punctuation marks which are used in English like comma, colon etc are missing in Devanagiri script. Will that be a problem? Also will it be possible to do programming in it? Also how soon can its science, accounts etc vocabulary be developed in Sanskrit? I don't know what our Governments since independence has decided about this important subject.

As both Sree Iyer and AIM said, human knowledge is doubling every 18 months, and this new knowledge is predominantly in the English language. So kids benefit so much by learning English as it is the only way to absorb/tap into the new knowledge. Japan was an industrial nation even 125 years ago, so they have all the technical jargon and do not need to invent words. China on the other hand invested in the world's largest translation industry. Since they only have 1 language for 1.4 billion people, they have reaped the benefits greatly as they automatically achieve a scale like no other nation. Rather than spend money on developing a single Indian language to replace English, better make a bilingual school curriculum that teaches basics of science + math in mother tongue and also use English in parallel.

    • @pram6681
      @pram6681 3 года назад

@@MrLee-gj2jz Or one can borrow the whole science/maths vocabulary from English and use it with one's mother tongue. That way we will have same vocabulary for science/maths throughout the country. Other option is to use English for science/Maths and use mother tongue for other subjects.

@@pram6681 Till Class XII, if there is any subject that has to be taught in the mother tongue, it is science and math.
Borrowing english vocabulary into science/math is what is destroying life of Indian kids. For example, take a look at the following 5 words from Class 7 math in CBSE India.
      (1) union
      (2) null set
      (3) orthogonal
      (4) equilateral
      (5) adjacent
What are the equivalent terms in regional languages so that kids can easily understand? I don't think they exist. On the other hand the Chinese developed their own terminology:
      (1) Liánméng
      (2) kōng jí
      (3) zhèng jiāo
      (4) děng biān de
      (5) línjìn de
This is the reason why many Indian kids don't learn concepts and start ratta maar'ing while Chinese / German / Italian / Korean / Finnish etc learn far more efficiently. The situation gets worse in college where the number of terms exploded exponentially such as divergence, hessian, entropy, bijection, homomorphism, etc.
As I made my point before, new knowledge is being created every single day and is doubling every 18 months or even less. No point in even trying to translate every single English word in scientific literature. Best you can do is attempt till Class XII, teach English in parallel and train the kids to learn on their own.

12:22 I have been thinking about this and I believe India should give up Hindi as a national language. People should only learn their native regional language and English (for business and science with the outside world). That's it. This Hindi business has made people lose their connection to their roots. Better be proficient in your mother tongue than trying to learn 100 languages from class 1.

      3. Popular support for sheikh hasina is all time low because of mass election rigging at 2014 and 2019.
