I started trying out braids for the first time last year. I was instantly hooked both on strength, and the zero memory they have. I’m trying different braids i came across gliss. I love the stuff, I love how thin it is. The zero memory. I am really good at getting tangles in mono from line memory. The only two cons I have with gliss is. 1. I can’t cut the line with my teeth like mono. And two it is super slippery, which is great for casting but I needed to learn some real knots after it slipped a few. It does not forgive using the wrong knot or a poorly tied not. It will slip and untie itself.
I’ve found mine doesn’t fray I’ve been using it for awhile now I have the 13lb gliss and I’ve been using FG knots and advanced albertos to connect gliss to my leader I’ve tried light and heavy leaders both work great and the knots are super strong the only thing i can say so far is that you have to tie good thin strong knots and check them before fishing and make sure they don’t slip . The line cast super far and I’ve only got 1 wind knot so far I might trying spraying the line with silicone spray to help with wind knots
I completely agree with this review. I still love this stuff more than regular braid because it is SO MUCH thinner and casts WAY better. Super sensitive especially when fishing for crappie or pan fish.
Yes. I looks kind of like dental floss. You need a very good knot tied correctly. I have some in a good spincast reel and it casts a mile. Will try some on a spinning reel next. Would recommend mono leader or fluro as it is somewhat visible.
colin millwood it’s great for very light lures 1/16 oz, 1/8 oz, 1/4 oz. I haven’t used it for anything over about a 1/2 oz. so unfortunately I can’t say how it would perform throwing heavier lures.

Recommended knot is on the packaging itself.

Holds knots well. Its basically very Strong dental floss
Very well thought out review - concise, detailed and to the point - I am about to try the 12# on my ML spinning rod - we'll see - Thanks

Have you ever had trouble with it breaking at the knots? Seems that no matter which knot I use it breaks right above the knot.
Line will always break at the knot, weather it's mono, fluro or briad. Knots weakin the line and that's where they break.
Just got this type of line for top water fishing do. What baits do you recommend to throw?
TheDailyGamer38 I like it for light weight baits 1/16 oz to about 1/4 oz lures.
Are any special knots required, and what it like casting metal lures/slugs 30-60gms (1oz-2 oz).

I find that gliss twists a lot
Interesting, I don't seem to have any issue with twists. My biggest complaint is it separates and starts to fray after a while.
Worst line I’ve used lost 3 lures to it
Tie a polymer knot with it. I love gliss
@@jdmcnugent6808 How is this Gliss 12 or 24lb doing with FG knot on Fluoro leader? Reliable?
