In 2014, Washington D.C. had a "vision zero" for traffic fatalities, and it was just reported that not only did their efforts (not based on Strong Towns recommendations) fail, but fatalities have INCREASED over the past decade, despite roughly flat population growth. This shows that actual policies, not just good intentions, matter a LOT. Good urbanism is more than simply putting up speed cameras and hoping for the best.
