It’s definitely a Hispanic culture thing that when someone you know passes away your not suppose to do “disrespectful” things and they take it very seriously. When my uncle passed away at 22 years old who was like a brother to me , I listened to his favorite songs in my room my grandmother came into my room and yelled at my not to be playing music its VERY disrespectful! but I told her it’s all his favorite songs she said it doesn’t matter you should not be playing music or watching tv etc.
