I have been using the 2 man version of this tent for a few years now. You are spot on with your review. If you are 6ft / 183cm tall or taller, you will touch the back of the tent and your sleeping bag will get wet as both the inner and outer fabric will touch. I will add another loop the the bottom of he outer to pull it out further. The other down side is the outer fabric can sag when wet and needs re-tensioning in the morning. But for the packing size and weight, it's hard to beat. The quality of the fabric and the tent in general is pretty good. The other thing to consider is as it is low profile, it keeps in the heat quite well even in below 0 degrees temperatures. If you are considering this tent, pay a little more and get the 2 man version. So much more space but not much extra pack size or weight.
I'm currently using the Terra-Nova Starlite 2 Tent and very happy with the quality, easy to put up and pack and very small pack size. The Starlite 2 is very generous in size for sleeping 2 people or one person with gear inside.
Good video! That tent is so small, even for a one person, and the side floppiness makes it seem almost like an oversized bivy. I agree with you, I wouldnt want to be stuck in there for very long.
That reminds me a lot of my vango force ten mk1 and honestly I love that little tent it's stealthy enough to pitch pretty much anywhere if needed and there's just enough room to get by and it's much nicer than a tarp shelter
The tent is very low and the supplied pegs are not very good. But on the good side the tent has very small pack size, the cloth quality is better than most other ultra light options. The low height can be a good thing in stealth camping and also helps i bit in strong wind. And best of all: There is good space around your head and shoulders when laying down. In many other tents you have the cloth an inch from you nose but here you can move around, read a book and so on... That's why I bought it. The full cloth inner makes it a good choise for autumn and even winter conditions. But if it's rain and you are too long (over 160cm) you will most likely get the foot end of you sleeping bag wet. So, I consider it more as an ultra large bivy and as such it is great! A good tent if it suits your needs, but quite a niche product. Edit: Had it out on the mountains this weekend in strong wind (appr 20 m/s, gusty). Noisy, but the tent stood without any problem (with hilleberg pegs, the supplied pegs are useless in the type of soil we have around here in Norway). But the tent is small, real small. For someone who is longer than 180 this is no option. I am 178 and I hit the ceiling when sitting up.
Another great video, the tent is well out of my budget but look a cracking tent. love your videos and the lack of over editing mucking up words but carrying on , you are looking very happy and its great to see.
Great review Abbie. Thanks for taking the time to walk us through it. I have been looking at the Scarps model of tents but they are very top end, deciding instead to try the North Face Storm Break for my backpacking tent. Seems to be that nice middle grounds price vs quality/features/. Going to try the 3 person as there will be 2 adults and 2 dogs on some trips. Hopefully it all works out.
Good review Abbie, everything nicely shown except for one thing which no tent reviewer shows. I'm longing for the day someone shows how to dismantle a tent and get it all back in the bag.
Morning Abbie, my next door boater friend a music teacher of all things, did the cost to coast last year, he went very basic and did it under the route length time guide, so the tent your showing so light weight would fit the bill perfectly, for someone like you and me, both five foot seven, Carl one of my boater beighbours is quite a bit smaller, and after a long walk like you say easy to set up,, and pack away in the morning. Along the way through the coast to coast Carl also stayed in hostels and ate out when passing through villages, with the odd cheeky pint, so it's not always needed, and yet so light weight, you wouldnt feel you were carrying extra weight if you up graded to hostel, bed and breakfast for the odd night, other. You could attache a small light to the top.instead of a washing line. Best of health as always Peter and Lucky the 9 year old Boxer Dog
Good review Abby, Q. What with is you mattress ? Also do you think the gap next to your mattress do you think would be enough for a med size dog Springer Spaniel size
It appears this tent has been discontinued by the manufacturer. I was hoping you would have said something about how this tent compares to Hilleberg Enan or Akto. Yes, I have the Enan which is just right for lil ole MEeee (5'3") Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.
Always depends on how and where you pitch and the severity of the conditions. I would never actively seek to camp in the wildest weathers, but its a well made tent!
Just a heads up Abbie, if you hadn’t noticed already… spammer/scammer at work in these comments. Copy pasting the same message to as many posters I looked at.

What a lovely tent so compact and reliable even on a worst of days in terms of weather.I would certainly buy it thank you 🙏🏻

Happy New Year to you both, looking forward to your adventures. x

I believe that is what they call magic :D
Happy New year!
This tent looks absolutely fantastic, I’ll definitely have to keep an eye out for someone selling it on.😊
Thorough review thank you! Would you advise a groundsheet?

Terra Nova just released a new youtube video on the 1 and 2 person starlight so they must be still selling it.
Happy New Year 🥳
Nice little compact tent Abbie.
Happy New Year to you both. x
I love your videos and what you represent, Ireland ✌
Hi Abbie. Can you vent the main door from the top (for cooking)? Thanks Steve
Yes,
Hello, how does this tent endure heavy rain and windy conditions?
Always depends on how and where you pitch and the severity of the conditions. I would never actively seek to camp in the wildest weathers, but its a well made tent!
Abbie could you review the best bikepacking sleep system too? Such as Zenbivy? Just found you! Love the channel 🎉
I saw recently your “dream tent” you have always wanted the Hilleberg Akto! So why the Terra Nova? Which one is your dream tent?
I sooner have the lightwave 1 man tent for the price . Nice review.
Where do the shower and sauna go?
Happy New Year! Will be interesting to see how the tent does out on your journeys. Looks like an ok tent but, for what it is, it’s a bit pricey imo.
That is a beautiful spot to go camping :-)
Only the high-end tents are actually made in the UK. The others are made in China. The ones made in the UK, it states it on the Terra Nova page.
Look for Vango Helix 1 and the features will shock you
