Well presented video Paul. Practical, sensible advice that is most importantly workable. I wish you and the railway every success for the rest of the season and in coming years. (Also loved the use of the recycled cereal packet 'script' :-) ) Regards, David H.
Hi, thanks for the question. The answer is yes, if you go to our website at www.festrail.co.uk you will find a covid - 19 donate button. Every penny will help to keep the wheels turning.
A situation a lot of tourist railways find themselves in at the moment. Expenses continue but little to no income. My own railway in Australia, Puffing Billy does not have a restart date yet. It will be like starting over again.
Best wishes. Were you aware that there was a lot of electrical noise on the audio - disregarding the motorbikes! - there were a lot of buzzes, clicks, and tapping noises.
Yes thanks. The video was shot on a phone which interfered with the microphone. Sadly, nothing we could do about it. It does mention this in the description. Not our usual standard though.
There's no call for railway freight in that part of wales any more. Hence the initial closure in the 40s. Also, "real work"... I think transporting tourists, enthusiasts and families round some of the most beautiful parts of the UK is real work.

American here, watching all this from afar happen to a railway I hope to experience some day. Is there a way that we can donate?

Best wishes to The Puffing Billy from all here at the F&WHR. We share a Garratt after all.

What about freight revenue, not only is freight very profitable, but steam locomotives doing real work would attract even more attention.

That was very informative and can I help in any way.
Thanks, Grace. Just keep on loving the railway.
