So the pigment just sticks to the print without any bonding agent? Thanks for the tip :)

Almost, you need to seal it with clear coat so it does not rub off.

Love this idea have a few coins i printed for games using resin but still wish they were a bit more "clinky".. how do these feel? more metallic?

Pro tip: If you want it to feel more like a metal cast piece, print also a plastic bolt into the base and a base cap. Screw a large metal bolt onto it, and glue the base cap over to cover it. Cheap and effective.

This could be a lot of fun with the miniatures I just printed....

The technique definitely will work amazing for minis.

Would this technique work with mica powder?

Would this look good for larger objects like, say, a Lightsaber hilt?

Yep it scales very nicely, I used to to great effect with a Skyrim Glass Axe resin print (zero paint used) that I posted up on Facebook a while back (facebook.com/hirocreations/photos/a.547643858658657/2355599931196365/?type=3&theater)

@@HiroCreations That Glass Axe looks pretty great, thanks for letting me know! I'm learning how to use CAD software so I can 3D print my own custom hilt design, with a PVC tube inside to make it battle ready [I hope.]
This is my first time doing something like this, so I'm glad there are ways to make 3D printed objects look less like plastic!

Good find! Is the black coat aiding the pigment to stick? Asking since if the resin itself is black already, can that step be skipped?

The coat of black paint helps a ton with contrast and makes the silver and golds look more vibrant. Otherwise that step is skippable.

Honestly, if you put the powder on while the paint is still tacky, it may help in making it stick so you don't need the clear coat, and can polish it like a typical cold cast effect. Not sure, but I can try and see if it works.

Looks cool. Not going to subscribe though, your substitution of F for TH constantly just leaves me feeling irritated after watching the video.
