Yes, that is how I run mine. I showed that in the video. Long-press the big VFO knob to toggle the PMG to Auto. Manual only shows the signal bar when someone transmits. Auto allows you to hear the audio. I think I covered that in the video description. I usually include additional tips in the video descriptions.
