- This is my first drive of The all new Maverick Quantum + (plus) XT, Straight out of the box, given a few long Straights to get a speed reading. Also test the Handling.
Gps with:
GreenHorn 2s Lipo, 5000mah 45c
Youme 3s Lipo 5200 50c
Overlander 3s Lipo 4500mah 55c (dead cell)
will it run a 4s lipo ???

I guess I was a little too critical I lose track of the norm when I’ve ran a 6s buggy ,
It does handle well , the chassis is definitely up for some💪.
As for the bird 😍 wow lovely. Camera didn’t see what my eyes could 😁.

They’ve included Tougher Arms in the Box, Apparently they weren’t available at time of the build, they have fitted this car with the Hardened driveshafts and axles, from the smaller Mavericks, the First batch of these small quantum’s were Very weak. I will agree, but the upgraded parts I later put on Were stronger. I do believe that any of the Newer batch’s of the Little Maverick quantum will come with the HD axles and Driveshafts fitted as Standard as they weaker parts are discontinued . .
Everything is with its pro’s and Con’s .
Such as buying a corally Kronos instead for EG:
Then have to spend about £160 on belted Badlands tyres.
I keep seeing videos on these trucks I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on one but idk that much about the yet I guess we'll see thanks for the vid 👍
I pre ordered this on 19th December , I just came in 19th Feb. I didn’t know anything about at the time. I guess you can keep an open mind. I have mixed emotions, it feels capable of handling more speed/ power. I was hoping for it to be a bit quicker, some people will show you 45+ out of the box stock, but that’s with $150 Lipo .
So realistically out the box would be around 42mph it’s not without it’s faults, it does need quite a bit of setting up Diffs , shocks damping , gear ratio .
The Arms provided in the box are the Stronger ones apparently. The drive shafts are the Stronger ones. So Yh just keep an eye, I think you need to make your own call, as with RUclips you’ll get Six Positive and 6 negative reviews and you’ll be left in the position as you are now .

Cool. some of the Earlier Maverick Strada , and The Maverick Timberwolf Sct were not bad .
The First batch of the New Quantum range had a bit of a bad reputation .
I think the Quantum range has Improved a little since the first batch
That is one sexy truck mate, it's slower than the previous version which is weird. All it needs is 17 🦷pinion and this thing will fly.
That's what I have done to my quantum flux mt and now on 2s iam reaching 47 mph and on 3s 64mph ,had to get a new wheels tho.

Cool 🏎💨💨 , I’m glad you said you changed the wheels no way the standard tyres are taking 64mph. It was straight out of the box it’s never going to go as fast as it can potentially go from the box. I should be a little positive I was a touch disappointed it’s slower than the Little maverick. But we can fix that, the main thing is the Chassis seems capable of holding more power .

I think 42 ish, isn’t terrible, in a big area it will look slow, especially when I got buggies that’ll do best part of 60mph
It does need a little tuning I have a look when I’m next off. The holes in the dampers are quite small. And the oil is too thick. The punch seems a little lack Lustre perhaps it could of been my Cheap Chinese battery, that overlander I had puffed up, one cell was a bit moby dick.
My best are my gens ace , I started buying Chinese batteries after two near new peak power 3s Puffed up in my kraton . Running on Flat grass. They cost £90 for the 2 and didn’t last long.
But yes i shall look forward to your running video Of the Quantum, i need to see how your mods have changed it. 😀

I think this is pretty good for the price Mark. The speed that it does on 2s and 3s i think it pretty standard and not too bad. I bought a Fox Outlaw brushless a few years ago and did a couple of speed runs. It was pretty much the same speed as yours today. 40 mph is quite quick i think. For the money i think this truck is nice dude
Perhaps I was critical , I was expecting it to be a tad quicker , it holds the road well. With them bigger tyres, that was straight from
The box so a little fettling is needed and I guess it could be Even better . 😁

I got a 4s system coming for mine bud
I would of just swapped the ESC for a 4s capable and run that motor till it blows 🤷♂️.
I kind of missing it now I sold it after it p’ed me off when it broke or I broke it 😁

These are great fun I bought 1 for my sun but they break constantly
You have to fill the center diff with thicker oil, like 100k 😉 it will be puncher, like this all the power is lost to the front diffs diffing out...
Also up the pinion if you want the top speed to be faster
Already done , this was its initial run out of the box, it runs a 17t pinion and the all of the Diffs have been done runs 49mph on a Modest priced 3s Lipo.
Does the truck still come with the old A arms that break. The newer stronger arms are an oval shape rather than round at the hinge pin end of the arm, not sure if the trucks that have been sent out so far have the new arms. As i noticed when Aussie RC Playground tested his Quantum Plus & broke an arm they appear to be the old type arms with the round hinge pin area on the arm. They also split open along the seam just like the old arms on the original Quantum.
Yes they are the same arms I think

The arms fitted are old style but you do get the new ones in the box just have to fit them your self 🥺

I can tell you it is for Operation of Channel 3
From the RX but it will only act as On/Off
Or In the case of a servo full left or Full right

My only thought of that is waiting for parts for a Month or May be more to come from China.
How dose yours break when hiting reverse? Mines not so good
So today first day it arrived I've taken out a arm on a small jump 1-2ft and the back wing with in 30 mins only on grass not even that Cold just got stuck in the mud and shattered
And whilst driving how should it break as any kinda slope and mine won't won't even reverse till it's stoped
The reverse I can understand it’s forward brake then reverse you may be able to change the running mode to forward and reverse.
Breaking an Arm , shattering the wing 🤷♂️ not good ,! I’m going to coat my wing with wd40 , it might help it .
The arms in the box are ment to be the new stronger ones but may not have been available at production .

If you go from forward drive on the tx to reverse after the car has stopped, & want reverse you click the trigger twice, the second click the car then moves in reverse. Lots of cars operate in this way, its only in reverse this happens.
Yeah I would swap them if you have the chance as when mine broke it's also bent the suspension

Just got mine, centre diff seems to be making some odd noises and has some major woddle in the wheels. Any advice mate?
I think I’d be inclined to Strip it down to investigate further either that or Complain the shop to where you bought it. Tell them it’s Faulty .

@@mark-1rc502 told the shop. They are asking me to find the fault and they will replace the parts 😏. I told them replace the whole car but they aren't having it. Its been driven once. Do the centre diffs make a noise at low speed? Sounds as tho mines slipping

I can relate to the Slipping sound for sure
The grease they use in the Diffs isn’t up to the job , it’s most likely unloading all of power to the front in order to remedy that you’ll have to have the centre diff out anyway.
Check the Gear Mesh. Could be a bad mesh? A chip on one of the teeth of the pinion or Spur ?
A common problem is the Drive cups Front & Rear on the Diff outputs for the Centre shafts .
Have a Grub screw screw in them they tend to wind them selves loose, if one of them have came loose that would also explain your slipping you may be able to hear a clicking noise.
@@mark-1rc502 it's like a grinding / lose noise. I kinda thought maybe it needs better diff oil. Car drives OK, just at low movement you get the noise. Shame I can post the video here. The shop said I can send it back and they will look at it, was just hoping it could be done by me to save the hassle. I may pop it into our local rc repair guy, he may know straight away. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
You want to also put some 14x6 washers over the Axles BEHIND the Hex may be about 1mm thick. The ones there are too small one bash to the wheel it’ll buckle your Axle because there’s a tiny Gap between the bearing and the Wheel Hex. ,
Also go for about 100’000- 150,000 cst silicone oil for the centre you’ll notice an immediate difference . Also the 12tooth pinion is too low, you literally at full rpm as soon as you move , it has no legs .
Try a 15tooth it’s a good balance between speed and acceleration .
Low punch
Centre diff oil was too thin . I changed it and put a bigger pinion it was alot better ,
It weren’t a bad chassis design it drove well, I had a problem with the quality of the plastic it was made from
