- Relaxing hike in a steep and scenic trail in the Mont'Arrubiu forest, just a few minutes from the village of Soleminis.
We park the car in the square of the former forest barracks in the village of Mont'Arrubiu and admire the surrounding landscape.
Consult the map and decide to take the more direct and steep path to the nearest summit located to the east.
The climb in the first part is very steep and stony, with few trees and many shrubs, but the views and mushrooms that we find along the way repay the effort.
After the first kilometer, the path crosses stretches of forest gradually more and more dense, with particular rocky outcrops covered with moss and surrounded by mushrooms of all kinds.
Proceed until you come out of the wood and follow the white road of the forest along a stretch without trees, from where we can admire the surrounding mountains better.
After a short break, continue along the firebreak line on the left until you reach the highest point of the hill, dotted with picturesque oaks.
From the vantage point we look more closely at the green valley to the west, while in the distance we can see the Sella del Diavolo, the pond of Molentargius and Santa Gilla reflecting the light of the sunset.
The sun is going down, we still have about an hour of light, it's time to retrace the downhill path.
I almost forgot: I leave you a couple of shots of the mushrooms we found.
In the next video I will show you the brief but instructive multi-sensorial trail with information panels that starting from the former barracks allows children to discover plants and animals in the area.

The State Forest Campidano is located in south-eastern Sardinia, just minutes from Cagliari.
It is a group of forests and paths, regretted in the early 1900s and extended for about 1600 hectares and managed by the Foreste Foreste.
The large green area, called Santu Barzolu, extends between Sinnai and Settimo S. Pietro sud and Soleminis and Dolianova Sinnai to the north-west
