Can't believe Svidler blundered into a mate in 2.

It was time trouble in the end for Peter, but the game was super nice. There is so much going on in the game it is insane to me at what level they are playing.

Speaks volumes about the man that Grischuk is very respectful and humble to all players....most of whom are not fit to lace his boots.

That Grishuk sure can play a mean game of chess. What a check mate vs the excellent Svidler. Better than any of the world championships games so far. Thanks gentlemen and would welcome a re match.

i just love how accessable some of the best chess players of the time are. that they share their play with us and to see their different characters is really enjoyable (: and its also good to make chess common to a wider base of people, so hopefully more people will play in the future.

There is "Fischer prize" for winning a tournament with perfect score. Grischuk just won 5 banter blitz streams with perfect score, I suggest we call it "Grischuk prize" for anyone able to do the same!

Be it the first mate with the queen sac against a 1400 or the last mate against Svidler himself: Sasha is a genius.
But for people who are calling Carlsen and Caruana as boring remember that Grischuk (who is so entertaining normally) draws a looot of games as well. It is that when he goes to the board he faces another beast like himself. When they face each other, it's not easy. They both see everything within 2 seconds of a position for 99 per cent of the time. In such a case, all you can do is keep playing well and hope for a mistake (which is what Carlsen and Caruana are doing)

White could recapture and so black would be down an exchange (and still needs to move his queen).
