For the stretching, I totally agree with the mobility exercises from BWI. Repeated doing them improved a lot for me, not only for the range of motion, but also the articulation, the movement looks also much smoother!
I love listening to you, I find it so uplifting and motivational. Due to health issues I'm not in a position to be dancing right now but the advice you were offering is applicable to my situation too, thank you!
could you do a video on proper alignment in ballet? i see a lot online on proper alignment in first and breaking down the plumb line but not much else on proper alignment throughout different movements
My issue is that I'm naturally extremely flexible (all three splits without stretching, can battment my ear, lol, etc) but I can barely even hold my leg past 45 degrees in extensions. 😵💫 I have no strength, but sooo much flexibility. Can BWI help me with that?
are there any spaces online for adult dancers who want to push and achieve their goals? i havent really seen a space that values us adult dancers as hard working!
I have a private coach and is learning classical ballet but I wasn’t really teach how to do character or Spanish dance. I tried out BWI I and it helped me a lot with my flexibility and stretch. Can BWI coach in character or Spanish dance?
Since being with BWI my flexibility, as an adult, has gotten way better! LOVE the stretches. I think I could nap in some of the hip stretch positions lol
Gosh yes I remember the days of no toe pads, only Lambs wool and Surgical Spirit to toughen the skin! Also Calamine Lotion to 'repaint' and mattify dirty shoes 😭😂🩰💜
@@KayAlexandria283 I would love to have done both in hindsight & with over 6 decades under my belt & did try a bit as an adult but got discouraged at my lack of flexibility & zero turnout (had no idea it was something you could work on!). Am loving doing a weekly senior adult ballet class & wish it was every day! ❤️

Do you play piano ? Did you have to learn how to play while you were in Russia ? Do you think playing an instrument is helpful to a dancer ?

Random, unrelated question cuz it’s been on my mind, but do you know why some dance schools combine tap with ballet class for young children?
I wonder if it goes back to the first half of the last century (1920-1950s?) when tap was very popular?
