Yes that sounds like a great idea 👍. Unfortunately I got distracted with this cheap Tesla motor so I diverted my energy to that. I am thinking about putting Tesla in Toyota Celica
That's commendable work. A lot of hi level technical knowledge needed for this!! I have a gen2, and am taking the easier option, Creating a battery BMS spoofer (recreating the hybrid interfaces bms - pcb files and code floating on Prius chat. I'm using a larger 70S LFP lithium battery pack to run either fully electric with a top speed of 92km/h & average of 12.6KW/100KM on flat road. Or with ICE assistance by far superior fuel economy and performance then stock. Keep the progress videos coming.
Thanks for your kind comment. I went to a more complex route by making board myself but you can purchase board from Damien EV BMW store. He also now developed a zombieverter board that controls inverter via can messages rather than replacing of the original Toyota board. I am now stuck on battery purchase. Where did you order your LFP battery from?
@@LatutaEV i went with a lishen 40ah cell because it was rated for 6C continuous 10C for 30seconds for both charge and discharge. Also check out the byd 138ah blade cells which can be had relatively cheap.
I've been watching this channel since the beginning of the year. Have you decided on a vehicle to convert yet? Great explanations of the steps you've taken so far to get the hybrid drivetrain to become full BEV.
Thank you for your interest. I am gravitating towards either Audi TT or Toyota Celica. At the moment I am trying to source the battery. I am looking either at purchasing used automotive batteries but also have a crazy idea to try to get 2170 batteries from China and try to build my own modules. I am conscious of the fact that this may take longer and be more expensive.
The cheapest option today tbh is to just buy a complete Nissan Leaf (wrecked or not) and mount it to a manual gearbox 2wd car. This is especially the case if you want to make your car road worthy.. Damien's board is not EU-compliant by default..
The MG2 is about 50 kW which is about 70 bhp. The mg1 is much smaller and due to gear ratio probably won't contribute much. At first I just want to get it working. As a next step I am considering removing mg1 and using two MG2 either linked together or applied to each wheel
hi my name is Ramzi thankyou your video its verry good information . pleas can you tell me if i have inveter and gearbox for toyota hybrid high voltag 200v and low vold 12 i thing you say on your video showing pin 1 to 12vold+ and pin 5 for start pleas can you give more information . thankyou
Hi Ramzi if you have a look at my other videos in Toyota Prius inverter play list you will find one where I go through pins of the ampseal connector. I think also video 4 and 5 have that information. Also on open inverter wiki there is detailed pinpoint shown
I have a question. I have a prius gen 3. You think its possible just to remove the gas engine and replace it with a electric motor and keep the rest of the car stock.??
I think it should be possible. One of the problems would be to deal with Prius ECU as it is still expecting various sensor output from the motor. But for my project I am considering using two Prius gearboxes with MG1s removed
Can I just say I’ve been very excited for this project I have a similar swap planned on a 81 Corolla Tercel do you happen to have real world dimensions?
It is great video, i am trying to modify an gas car to be ev. Already a motor and converter box of Toyota prius 2007. Would you support to sell a boar to make converter working.
Sorry I thought about it and as I only have 2 boards I prefer to keep the second board as a backup option. Did try checking Damien EV BMW store he may have some boards for sale

had a fun chat with a guy that said i shouldn't be changing my 1970 VW Camper to electric coz i'd take it's soul away. I explained that i was going back round the world and this would be my mode of transport this time instead of solely push bike and that with fuel costs and how crap vw engines of this age are, would mean i'd spend half my days at the roadside. ''But what about the sound'' he said, so i asked him if when he got home, he left his engine running so he could listen to it, ''well, no coz it would be too expensive'', he replied. Ok, i said, i will give you £20 to leave your engine running all night tonight and see how much you and your neighbours enjoy the sound of your beautiful engine....needless to say he declined.
