Correction for columbia (just graduated from there): Our cost of attendance is about $84,000 per year, not $64,000. ACT scores 33-36, Old SAT above 2200 Many of my classmates are graduating into 6 figure salaries (some with bases of $250,000 plus bonus) even in this pandemic economy. Many of my classmates own their apartment in the city, although not the majority, and most stay in the dorms. "Merits" do matter, but include far more things than a GPA. Schools look for those who stand out from other applicants. This includes things such as unique interests and many extracurriculars and achievements under their belt. Things that also count are interviews, SAT and other standardized test scores, the essay that is submitted, etc. Donations almost always give those who do not excel in the following criteria I just listed a "free pass."

In my opinion, it does not matter where you went to school, how much money you have, where you came from, or what society thinks of you, or what race you are or religion you believe in, but what does matter is that we all have the opportunity to make something big or small out of ourselves in this life and at the end what matters is if we lived a well-lived life so to anyone out there who doesn't go to an ivy league school like me be you and be proud of where you come from and do something you love with your life and everything will fall through and best of luck and much love friends.
Luis Martinez that’s true, but some of these schools put you in a better situation to succeed. For example, if Evan Spiegel never attended Stanford, Snapchat wouldn’t have existed.
Sandesh Khade hi sandesh if your talking bout st Xavier's and others ... they are good but not to be included in this list.. I hope u agree to it.. considering the fact that 90 percent of the Rich kids don't prefer studying in India... they prefer studying abroad ...
Claire Benitez , i'm a law student in university of mumbai and my yearly fee is just about 205$. In India most of the unversities managed by the govenment of india or the state government of india have very lower cost of education and in some cases next to nothing.
Pooja Verma Only those students study abroad who have to carry on their father's business legacy. However, the kids of celebrities or the celebrities themselves studied in mumbai universities. However, now some celebrity kids who value education more or are interested to study abroad go abroad. Others are not even bothered to attend college and if they do, they get admission into mumbai university just to get a degree. St. Xavier's, HR, Jai Hind etc have a lot of rich kids.
Brown may very well be loaded with the rich and famous and cost a truck load of cash to attend, but it's academic reputation is well deserved. I was the only student on campus who was not a National Merit Scholar. Sure, it's flush with fame and celebrity and wealth (as are all great universities) but it's academics are first rate. If you think getting into Brown was hard, try getting through 4 years of the most challenging academic (read: serious) course work you'll ever encounter. They don't fool around on College Hill. You have a better chance of becoming a millionaire if you are already rich and if you study economics. Economics can be studied in London without going to the L.S.E., but they are more likely to sell you a degree than the other colleges.
I went to The City College of New York, a couple of blocks away from Columbia U. Students from Columbia would take our engineering classes and would not be able to keep up. Tuition at City College is about 6k for residents and 20k for non-residents. I now work for a top 10 Fortune 500 company and graduated debt free. Doesn't matter where you go. Just be at the top of your class. The true benefit of going to an expensive school is that they will cater to your every need.
I studied medicine at GMC Nagpur in India. One of my batchmates had a BMW 650i convertible and was the son of a cardiologist another one didn't even have a bicycle and was the son of a farm labourer. Both are brilliant doctors and had to learn medicine by examining patients belonging to very poor socioeconomic conditions. In India education from a government institute is equally prestigious for all socioeconomic strata and that somehow brings equity to the society.
d Valentine basically yes. If your parents are smart, you get their DNA and most like will be smart too. Smart people are more decayed and make more money, the cycle continues forever. That's why those top universities accepts students if their parents are alumni, they know the rules :)
@5MinuteMovies you make no sense my man. Rich people are usually smart because they have more opportunities than poor people. This has nothing to do with DNA, when you have money you can do everything.
Considering that both success in school and IQ directly correlate to wealth, I'd say it's a very logical statement. How many billionaires are not smart?

for the rich meaning... only rich people survive unless you're extremely smart.. loans & money allowance will destroy you if you enter plus considering the fact that you gotta socialize with rich kids
Dunno where you're from but from here you get a loan for college that you start paying off once you're fully emplyed, and its taken straight out of your salary so you ''don't really notice it'', its also taken out in very small ammounts, although if you choose to pay at such a slow pace it could take 20+ years to pay off the whole loan.
My best friend from second grade graduated from Harvard college and went to medical school. Haven't been in touch with when for awhile, but she's most likely now a doctor. I'm a fucking nobody who wasn't able to complete my degree and probably never will. I can barely afford to feed myself or pay my bills. Unfortunate how a few differences in circumstances affect the rest of your life.
Lawrence Jones Yes, I have actually thought about it but it requires huge capital investment. I would like to know both major and minor capital investment opportunities.
To avoid this rabble, you can always go to one of the nerd counterparts (if you're truly brilliant, of course). MIT instead of Harvard Drexel instead of U of P Cal Tech instead of Stanford Georgia Tech instead of Duke, which usually makes these lists.
The reason why rich kids go to Oxford University is because people KNOW that the college tuition is really high. And I guess some of the students were dropped out because they couldn't pay their college tuition
"If you want to participate socially, you need to spend thousands of dollars." That quote sums it up for all the "rich kids" schools. If you are merely middle class and want to have a pressure-free social life, go to a university with other middle class kids. Just because a university has rich kids, does not mean you will know them or be their friends! You need money to keep up with the luxury class. If you don't have money, you will go into debt trying to curry favor with these kids. And you won't be able to afford their exotic vacations. Read House of Mirth by Edith Wharton about what happens when you try to keep up with the rich.
Levin Steiger thing is alux is shit and whilst those universities are great they are also not quite expensive (tho I can only say that for Zurich since I am probably gonna study there, don't know about Geneva or Monaco..)
price doesnt matter to wether rich people go to it or not. comes down to the demographics of the city, geneva zurich and monaco are all full of wealthy young people
_I am graduated from it._ The grammatically correct version of that sentence is either: 1) *I graduated from it.* OR 2) *I am a graduate of it.* Silly slumdogs really amuse me with their English.
Good thing here in the Philippines, Top Universities with Rich and Smart students pay FREE tuition. Our elites went to UPenn, Harvard, COlumbia, Yale, Stanford, and Oxford.
"Home of the rich" "Home of the wealthy" "Home of the rich and wealthy and smart" Why did you have to add those obnoxious slurs after every university? I cringed every single time.
There's a big big diference about the idea of going to university, in US it is supposed that you or your family pay a lot for it while in most European countries it's almost free. Here we still have the "universal education" ideal, that means that anyone can study regardless his or her economic situation. And that's the way it should be anywhere. Our taxes have to pay things like universal education.
If your university gave you good degree and you enjoyed your college life ,if it was free of racism and you made few friends who are still with you that is the best university.

i just woke up when i read the title. and i read it as... "universities stupid rich kids go" 😑
Bee anon true ya... lol!!😂😂😂
Going to college, is one of the best things you can do.
there is a extremely little chance that YOU will be like taylor swift.
0:46 DUBAI is a country? Which world does she live in?
flat earth society world LOL
Lol, Before I read your comment, I thought that it's a country too. Just searched on google.
no wonder social gap is getting bigger and bigger on those countries..
Well, so you expect them to teach you for free?
why does those kiddos still go to university when they already have everything?
Alux: "full of luxury cars"
*proceeds to show Dodge Charger and Challenger
dubai is a city not a country.
My best friend from second grade graduated from Harvard college and went to medical school. Haven't been in touch with when for awhile, but she's most likely now a doctor.
I'm a fucking nobody who wasn't able to complete my degree and probably never will. I can barely afford to feed myself or pay my bills. Unfortunate how a few differences in circumstances affect the rest of your life.
damn!
UNIVERSITY OF MUMBAI made it on the list
“Dubai is my country” is the prequel to ENGLAND IS MY CITY”
"Dubai is a country of wealth" 0:46
Just because a university makes it's students rich, it doesn't make it a rich-kid university. It makes it a successful one.
I thought this list would be only about rich kids and not people who became rich
Christ I couldn't take notes fast enough thank you for this plethora of utterly spiritually redeeming wisdom
I am applying to 7 out of 10 of these and this just killed my hopes
Did they say “you need a 250+ on the SATs” (Columbia)? Um isn’t that a low low standard? 5:51
Anthony: Yes the announcer is a moron...
Perhaps they meant the ACT? I could be wrong as I don’t really know the ACT’s scale. But 250 is extremely low for the SAT.
Make a list of top 10 best investments please!
ahah, go for it, billionaire
rex33362 Haha. future* billionaire
Jaleed Sultan gas
Lawrence Jones Yes, I have actually thought about it but it requires huge capital investment. I would like to know both major and minor capital investment opportunities.

Yale definitely surpasses both Ivy Leagues mentioned ahead of them in this video.
JNU takes 2.5k hostel fee per semester and we can't afford because it is not money that matter but knowledge and hardwork
I cannot attend those schools but I will work hard so that my future children can.
If only I was a book worm or ultra rich kid I'd get into Stanford.
To avoid this rabble, you can always go to one of the nerd counterparts (if you're truly brilliant, of course).
MIT instead of Harvard
Drexel instead of U of P
Cal Tech instead of Stanford
Georgia Tech instead of Duke, which usually makes these lists.
Someone in my school got a scholarship to Stanford. I live in London.
Dropped out from a top 100 uni, run two businesses at 24. Graduation isn’t the be all and end all of success.
Christopher O'Grady what is your annual salary now?
Nice!
marry christmas in late&happy new year in advance alux
Thank you Leonardo! Best wishes to you and your family!
The reason why rich kids go to Oxford University is because people KNOW that the college tuition is really high. And I guess some of the students were dropped out because they couldn't pay their college tuition
ridiculous not to have mentioned any schools in switzerland where you pay 100k per annum
I am sitting on a cardboard outside my house, sweating and farting and yes I go to University of Mumbai
I wish i become rich so i can go these university, 💔💔😭
Can you guys do a video on what young rich kids should spend their money on?
😕😕 gee 60 grand a year? That settles me for life, geez 😩😩
Read House of Mirth by Edith Wharton about what happens when you try to keep up with the rich.
zurich? geneva? monaco?
Levin Steiger thing is alux is shit and whilst those universities are great they are also not quite expensive (tho I can only say that for Zurich since I am probably gonna study there, don't know about Geneva or Monaco..)
price doesnt matter to wether rich people go to it or not. comes down to the demographics of the city, geneva zurich and monaco are all full of wealthy young people
does monaco even have a uni
yes
Hey Alux.com can you please make top ten student cities to go university at?
Seriously Mumbai University !!!!
I am graduated from it.
Harsh Upadhyay bruh was it expensive
Harsh Upadhyay lol not trying to sound like an ass, but judging by your English I am guessing it is not that exotic after all lol
Perseverance no, it's for the 'best of India' who apparently don't need a degree in English. Good luck in getting anywhere
Sir Eminence No it's not that. It's really fun.
I am glad to here among that it is in this list.
I thing you have misunderstood my comment.☺
_I am graduated from it._
The grammatically correct version of that sentence is either:
1) *I graduated from it.*
OR
2) *I am a graduate of it.*
Silly slumdogs really amuse me with their English.
Good thing here in the Philippines, Top Universities with Rich and Smart students pay FREE tuition. Our elites went to UPenn, Harvard, COlumbia, Yale, Stanford, and Oxford.
"Home of the rich"
"Home of the wealthy"
"Home of the rich and wealthy and smart"
Why did you have to add those obnoxious slurs after every university? I cringed every single time.
Ikr
There's a big big diference about the idea of going to university, in US it is supposed that you or your family pay a lot for it while in most European countries it's almost free. Here we still have the "universal education" ideal, that means that anyone can study regardless his or her economic situation. And that's the way it should be anywhere. Our taxes have to pay things like universal education.
I want to see the best colleges for the middle class
Did she just say that at Columbia you have to score 250 on your SAT ? YO, I'M IN !
seriously Mumbai University Holy crap MU is
"The home of the important rich ones"- love that😂
i feel poor now 😭
I’m surprised that the University of Southern California didn’t make the list. ❤️💛✌🏼
So...USA has most of the best colleges 😩😍😍😍
Hello from America 🙋
If your university gave you good degree and you enjoyed your college life ,if it was free of racism and you made few friends who are still with you that is the best university.
Im surprised USC is not on here
Hebbie Jebbies lol after the scandal it should be
