Well said, I honestly didn't think we were going to get up after the first quarter start. Merrett is beyond elite. 16 score involvements and another polished game... a lot of players stepped up. Best game I'd seen Harry Jones play. Caldwell went to another level when it counted. Mackay stepped up again after been quiet for a few weeks with intercept marks and the backline looked much better. Dylan Shiel looked good first run at senior level for a while. Why Caddy was dropped in the first place I fully agree as Richo commentator stated Caddy is going to be something special... brings back childhood memories of Lloyd. Looks comfortable in the forward line. Was a pleasure to watch that game. Other names worth a mention Ridley, Kelly, Martin, Stringer and Durham were all good also!.... Keep up the good work legends! 👌

    Good evening
Gents (DT & Smokin Joe )
Great show as usual and accurately summed up.
I’m was at the ground right on the fence virtually , so I was right on the edge of the battlefield .couldn’t agree more with the Geelong selections as I said the last 4 weeks we MUST keep playing Caddy ,Harry Jones did well holding his marks, and Draper took some great pack marks .
I felt the umpiring was great , but Archie Perkins needs a break and play in the twos I feel , he’s just not doing too much for weeks , his confidence is down perhaps ?
We need to bring Setterfield back in , but goalkicking we wasted 4 standard chances, and errored three times in simple turnovers , terrible mistakes by Wright .
I’m hoping he can turn his season around and hold marks , he was more accurate .
Yes we need Parish back , as our goalkicking and game is revolving around a team shared effort with multiple goal kickers .
Zac was unbelievable throwing his body around with tremendous efforts , and you were correct but twe needed to beat Collingwood, and we need to beat melbourne , and Fremantle as we are playing at home and then of course there is Sydney at Marvel coming ….. we can beat them at home , see today St kilda won !
I wouldn’t bring Goldstein back in too much …. We will lose Nic Bryan , and we must play him to get his confidence up
    Cox did very well .
Boy is Bobby Hill fast ……, but Kelly did well.
Play Archie Roberts , we must get Hobbs back on track as he was great last year .
Saad is out injured , 5 weeks synopsis ankle , he usually sits with his family 3 seats behind me.
The best form of defence is attack , anything can happen , play attacking football ,
    GO BOMBERS
Ps I mentioned Darren Bewick last week in the Geelong 1996 centenary (his comeback match )were he kicked 9 goals , yes we need Tex Wanganeen and Jett and Coby Bewick ,
Look forward to seeing you at the MCG , DT & Smokin , you can do a live pregame show !
“Absolutely Essendon “number 1 show .
    Cheers
    Lethal Leigh

Kobe Bewick is doing all the same things as a junior as a few of the most significant no 1 draft picks. He was the leading goal kicker in his talent league this year, a year he played as a midfielder.

ball use & footy IQ unreal

Thanks boys! That win has the Bomber faithful excited no doubt about it. As Brad said after the game it's just a step in our journey to get to where we want to be. It doesn't guarantee anything in the weeks to come. A few take away's in my mind was how well we responded to that first quarter blitz from Collingwood. Interesting to note it was Perkins on Crisp when Crisp kicked three goals in 3 minutes. From the vision Perkins had no body contact on Crisp at the stoppage, allowing him free run at the pill. That's an example of situational awareness and footy craft. From that point on the game was more or less on our terms, and the exciting part is knowing how much improvement we have left in us. Cheers legend's #godons

Gawn out. No excuses for the Bombers. And who knows, another 2 one 3 BoGs and Zach could go very close to winning the Brownlow. Heeny is no longer eligible.

Essendon can't handle wet conditions... a pretty lacklustre effort tbh against a team who wanted it way more overall. Umpires once again didn't help farrkk me honestly I'm starting to think they're opposed Essendon. Some woeful calls by the umpires including a mark to Jones directly in front didn't help our cause. First Geelong in the wet and then Melbourne have both dusted us at the MCG for a top 4 position, high stakes games.. Come home strong and showed some heart when the game was as good as over and 7 goals down in the fourth. Second spot up for grabs on the ladder, didn't play like that was the case. Now we could slip down as far as seventh if Port and Brisbane still yet to play get home... been following Essendon since I could walk and talk, hardest team to follow the last two decades. The same old Essendon, they will build you up one week, then dish out disappointment the next! 🤦‍♂️

Heppell needs to leave now he is not getting any younger and he is still part of the past his body is also letting him down lets blood the young kids like Caddy, Zach Merrett is by far the best captain in the comp we have a young growing list lets use it and just on a final note only use Sam Drapper or Nick Byran as for Todd Goldstein he should finish up this year he is holding back Nick Byran

@@louquay Heppell like Todd Goldstein are holding back young kids who could be getting games elsewhere I would not say Heppell has been excellent but he has been ok but why play someone like him when you have better younger talent sitting there Heppell should hang up the boots like Goldstein at the end of the year.

Nick had another dominant game in the VFL but can he and Draper play in the same team? Wright is still the better option up forward despite his average form.
