I've finally figured out what he does. I do this all the time at home now on my ukulele. The chords for this song is a constant repetition of F, G, C, and then back to G (but on this C, he throws his first finger on the Am position along with it, which means he just puts his finger on the second fret of the fourth string, where it would go for Am). The special noise that comes from the first chord is his hammering on the second fret of the fourth string, which means he plucks the fourth string to play G, but immediately puts his finger on the fret to get the proper sound. He PLUCKS, AND THEN HE INSTANTLY PUTS HIS FINGER ON THE FRET. If you don't know what I'm talking about, just google a video of a hammer on on a guitar or a ukulele and you'll instantly understand. The PLUCKING PATTERN HE DOES is he just plucks the fourth string with his thumb, and then he uses his pointer finger to pluck the other three strings, but the way he does it, instead of making sure he hits all three, is that the sound is not as loud as the fourth string pluck. Its not real difficult, but its a little hard to put in words. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, I will answer. I tried to explain this best I could, but I don't really think its great.
