Love that you are replying with some options to comments even though the vid is months old! Great to see! Hoping you can help me in suggesting some skis that I should be demoing. I currently ride a 2014 QST 105 (181cm) and absolutely love them. I ski everything on the mountain... and usually pretty aggressively, usually hitting a lot of bump runs , tree skiing, and narrow steeps / cliff areas (but not super big drops) like the Sisters at Kirkwood CA - so need something that is quite nimble and light. When skiing groomers, I tend to have medium - long sweeping turns and tend to ski pretty fast.... and of course I want to ensure that I have enough float on the days that I do actually get to ski powder (PLEASE SNOW SOON CALIFORNIA... WE MISS IT). Here is the rub though - I am a heavier dude... 6'1 at a little over 250 lbs... and what I love about the Q105s is well they handle my weight.... they have a lot of rigidity under foot for pretty light ski. I am obviously going to be trying the Q106s - but keen to see what other options I should be considering.

      Hi Dean,
Thanks for checking out our videos! Please subscribe to the channel :-)
Definitely try the new QST 106 and with that the Rossignol Sender 104Ti, and K2 Mindbender 108. All great skis that can handle a lot of power from the skier and gives it right back.
      All the best,
      The Half-Life Crew

Best one ski quiver for skiing the west US and other areas with lots of snow is the Moment Deathwish. Absolutely a blast in any condition, maybe not east coast ice.

I bought the Enforcer 104 free, haven't skid them yet. I ski mostly Telluride. Hope they're not too wide for me. I think I'll buy another pair around 80mms so I have something better on my knees when there's no fresh snow. Good video guys!

What I want in a ski:
    - My metrics: I am 6’1 (185cm), 170lbs (77kg) athletic build 30-32” waist, BMI of 21
    - I am looking for a ski that is light for the big all mountain. Can handle the trees with a quick response time, next to the piste crude, off piste real snow about 5-10” powder (12-25cm). It needs to be able to grip on a piste on not so great condition (icy) days since I’m not skiing out west but I generally ski next to the piste when I can.
    - Rocker in the tip and tail (I do want to do a bit of free style next to the piste and not in a park like landing switch/butters). Doesn't need to be a twin tip, just some tail rocker to land switch.
    - I love doing cliff/snowbank drop-offs about 3-10’ (1m-3m.)
    - I pivot through moguls and not go straight through them.
    - Looking for about 90-95 underfoot and 175-182cm length under 1800g skis.
    - I tried the older Kore 92 skies and loved them. I’ve looked into Faction CT 1.0-2.0 and Faction Prodigy 1.0-2.0 like the thought of them but haven’t tried them so I don’t know if they are right for me. Looked into elan ripstick 95 blacks. Rossignol escaper 94s.
    - No idea on my preferred stiffness. I haven’t exactly tried a bunch back-to-back to see what I like more. But I think I would like stiff, playful.
    - No idea on my preferred camber
    Current ski in my Quiver
    - Head Natural Instinct 2017. It’s a heavier hugh sidewall carving ski even though it has graphene. I’ve tested 90-100m under foot skis at alp resorts for skiing powder/crude,
Current ski location, level and frequency:
    - I ski 3+ weekends (6days) a year now in 2000m+ mountains in the Alps.
    - I am looking to ski about 5-10 weekends this year then get a season pass when I get back to the east coast but I will be doing big mountain skiing as much as possible.
    - I have done ski touring on red runs (black diamond in NA).
    - I always ski next to the piste on resorts like Val Thorens (3 valleys, France) or La plagne on red runs (black diamond in NA).
    - No idea on turn radius. At the moment, I like a like a lower turn radius but would like a 1 quiver ski that can do small turns in crude/mogul/piste but longer turns in 6”-12” pow day.
    - I do use my edge on piste, but I don’t care so much about speed and i'm not all about carving.

Head Kore 93, or Volkl Blaze 94. Both are light weight yet stable and smooth at speed.

missing Dynastar M-Pro 99 or M-Free 99 in the set-up, both great skis, M-Free 99 maybe the most playfull ski in this width on the market right now....

I’m a big fan of the Volkl M6. I would also consider Nordica enforcer 100, or Atomic Maverick 95.

IHi I am looking for an all mountain ski to replace my 2016 Volkl RTMs , trying to choose between a Nordica Enforcer 88 or a Volkl Mantra 6, both 2022 editions, mostly ski groomers but want a bit of deeper snow ability ( eastern deep so up to 5 or 6 inches ) and something that works well in crud and softer snow days. Thoughts between the 2? am an advanced skier 5'10" 165 lbs and fit. thanks !

    • @HALFLIFEVIDEO
      @HALFLIFEVIDEO  2 года назад +1

Hi Peter - I personally love the Volkl M6. It has the right amount of width for deeper snow days and rips on the groomers.
