I love the series so darn much let me tell you I’ve replayed the Styx:Shards of Darkness so many times just to get all achievements I was left now with 127.5hrs under the belt and now I’m left with Of Orcs and Men and Styx:Master of Shadows to get all achievements. The story never ceases to amaze me, it’s absolutely incredible!

Great video! Styx: SoD is my favorite game of all time. Like you said, it took the original and improved it in every way. Plus the Co OP is a fantastic addition to the Styx games. Really hoping they make another one to answer that ending cliff hanger!

I think another reason reviewers gave it mediocre scores is due to most of them valuing story over gameplay, because many reviewers aren't that good at the video games they review. They prefer cutscenes, why do you think Kojima games get 10s.

I liked the humor for the most part except for the death scene gags, they were fine at first but began to grate on my nerves as time went on and I would just automatically skip them. The loading times between deaths was improved from the old games but still quite annoying for someone like me doing the game on the hardest difficulty setting while attempting to ghost. The only issue I had with the game was the janky climbing mechanics, too many times have i died not because of my lack of stealth but because the game doesn't show you what you can and can't latch on to, often I have shimmied my way to a ledge to grab but for the little Goblin to refuse to gracefully transition to it. I'd have to launch myself into the air praying to Jesus that the little Goblin would connect to the ledge he by rights should have been able to just reach without such fuss. When the climbing mechanics work, they work great, when they don't it kills me inside.
Sounds like they're going for a Deadpool kind of vibe with the character. I'm cool with that. Hell, all you had to say was "you play as a foul-mouthed goblin thief and it doesn't suck" and I'd be sold.

Just got this on Steam 33% off. Anyone who's been waiting for a good time to grab it, now's the perfect time. This game does what I wish Assassin's Creed would have done: Actually let me fucking assassinate people and never be seen. I'll worry about pacifism and speed later on, once I'm done stealthily swiping everything that isn't nailed down.
Saw this in the stores and remembered you reviewed the previous game in the franchise. I said to myself " Let's wait and see what Razorfist has to say about it". Yup! Gonna have to buy it now!

I got the original Styx for free on xbox gold and aside the checkpoints it was decent but this video has sold me on the new entry and I will def be buying it. I just finished all the content available in Hitman so been looking for a quality stealther with some humor.
I was delighted to pick up a physical copy of this game at launch (something I never do with new games any more). Biggest and best improvement is that it doesn't take a fucking age when reloading after death. One thing that kind of pissed me off is the later levels being retreads of earlier ones like in Master of Shadows. Would like to have seen more individual areas to explore the world this awesome game takes place in.
He can't really make they hay joke when there's bags of sand(heh) conveniently placed for him. Have they upped the commentary amount? Is there a mute option? I don't remember how jarring it was in the first game but I liked that he spoke every now and again at appropriate times/intervals.
