It is rhe other way round: god saves us only by his grace through Jesus blood. That makes us holy in the eyes of god. And because we ARE holy we become holy through the work of the Holy Spirit in us.

I miss my dad so much, i remember he used to play piano and we could sing this song before we pray at night as a family ... I love this hymn. It's my favorite, of all the great hymns, bc the lyrics are so personal to me. Every single verse. I prefer it sung fast, bc it's such a joyful message. But slower really gives focus to the message. Such a glorious, glorious truth!
