This was one of the most hilarious moments in the movie for me, when Betelgeuse whipped out that guitar and he started to serenade and lyp sync to Lydia. XD. Hilarious, classic Betelgeuse. XD.

Tim Burton always used popular and nostalgic music in his movies (Hell, Beetlejuice had a lot of Harry Belafonte songs and Mars Attacks had Tom Jones' It's Not Unusual). If you're criticizing it, then you're not watching his movies at all.
