      Its the factory one for the 09 4.6 with the tech package, you can buy them on ebay and swap it in if yours didn't come with it

    I'm looking at this same stereo for a customer.
    By tapping into the factory sub out leads you are using the dsp tweaked signal to the factory sub.
    How are you sure that contains all available frequencies down to 20hz. For that factory sub and signal processing, that line may be starting at 40hz for example, or higher. So any added sub maybe is not actually playing lower?
    An lc21 would correct this issue if I am seeing this properly.
    Not many touch on this in the forums but, not all are a sound/studio engineer is all.
    Some even go as far as an aftermarket dsp swap.
    What's yours or anyone's knowledge in obtaining a Full spectrum raw signal to sub amp?
    What do you think?

      All I know is that the factory sub is a 8" 4ohm with dual voice coils, in this video I tapped into both connecters off the sub but later just tapped off the drivers side one itself and left the passenger side one disconnected. With a high low converter on the factory sub tap to RCA it seems to be a good suit to drive my aftermarket amp and sounds to have all the audio frequencies but I'm not a professional to say for sure.

    At 1:46 when you say “I splice them into one connection” what exactly did you put into one another? Thanks for the help

    • @GenerationGarage

      I just tapped into the drivers side 2 wires vs using all 4, the right side you can just leave disconnected from the factory sub. The 2 wires then just get connected to the high low converter for the RCAs

      might be using a always on powered fuse so youd need to look for a only on with key fuse

    Hey man my main sub cuts in and out especially when i turn it up, what can i check or diagnose to identify the problem? 2011 4.6

    • @GenerationGarage
      @GenerationGarage  Год назад

      I'd start at the sub and make sure the connections are good then move on to the amp and check the connections there. If both are good i'd check voltage while the car is running to see if you have any low spikes while driving. Be sure to disconnect the battery while checking the connector on the amp so you don't short it re seating the connectors

    Which wire is negative green or black ?

    • @GenerationGarage
      @GenerationGarage  2 года назад

      On the high low converter white should be positive and black is negative and brown is ground. On the amp Red is positive & black is negative then you just need a signal wire (12v) I used a blue wire to a fuse hop in my fuse box. If it sounds odd just flip the RCA wires around and you should be good to go or you can even test it with a multimeter

    Will the line converter you're using have some kind of fuse that'll blow out if using to many amps/volts without ruining the stock deck ? Looking into using a circuit breaker system before the converter so that it'll just set off the breaker but unsure if the thin wire on the factory sub can sufficiently connect to it. Would appreciate the help. Also can you show a video or a link to a picture of what you hooked up to the fuse box to get the amp to turn on when car is on thanks.

    • @GenerationGarage
      @GenerationGarage  4 года назад

      I'm not sure if it has a internal fuse but ive had no issues with it running to my amp, its just an rca adapter so the amp wouldn't draw more then its given. I have this setup running my 1100 watt amp and 2 10" subs, as for the fuse I just used a fuse hop for one of the existing fuses that turn on when the car does for a signal so really you could put it any power out when in ACC mode. If you wanna run it like I did you'll need to pull the back seat out plus center console & disassemble some of the dash, it sounds harder then it actually is so don't worry. I need to take my dash apart here soon for something else im working on so be sure to subscribe if you're interested in seeing some of that content!

      @@GenerationGarage I thought this was a video on a gen 2 genesis. My other question is would this type of hook up from the sub work the same on the gen 2 ? I'm assuming so since it's not a complicated by pass.

    How do I do the fuse box part ?

    • @GenerationGarage

      requires pulling apart the interior and running a wire to the fuse box then using a fuse hop to tap power for a signal from something that turns on with the car
