When you say the Ford Focus ST has a lot of problems, I have a 2014 Ford Focus ST and it has been the best mechanical sound car I have ever owned (owned about 10 cars in my life). I do most of the work myself. But the one issue I have with the Ford Focus ST had been water leaking in the cabin. I finally found where the problem was: it was back behind the rear bump air vents.
I must have gotten a lemon. My Turbo fried itself in the first 10k miles. Took over a week for Ford to install one under warranty. I then had a noise in the rear. Likely due to potholes here in NY but still other cars don't seem to bend suspension parts as easy as this one.
tip for anyone removing the cowling: dont remove the wipers. They're a pita to remove in many cases. Just remove the two T30 screws, and you can get the hole on one side over the wiper arm, and up. Then BEND it (do this when its warmer out obviously for the sake of the plastic), just enough to get the plastic over the end of the wiper thats standing up. the other end will just slide up over the other wiper. Ive done this a dozen times. As long as the plastic isnt brittle and cold, it wont hurt it.
Just got into my ST today and I have the same leak!! Luckily I have those all weather plastic matts. I hope mine is a simple but mine is coming from the top of the dash where it meets the door
I have a 2014 Ford Focus ST and I have this same Problem water is leaking into the driver side in the same spot as the car in your video luckily I have Weather tech floor mats So they have saved my Floorboard from being soaked but I wanted to know If after you did everything in the video if solved your problem?

I have a 2008 Focus with 300,000 miles on it (very well maintained highway car). My floor mat (a big rubber spill-proof type) has been getting wet on the driver's side. Yesterday, about halfway through a 1 hour commute, I noticed my leg was wet, and that liquid was lightly spraying toward the floor mat from under the dash- then it simply stopped and did not happen again. It was a cool, slightly drizzly day. The defrost mix with floor temp was set to warm, heater motor running medium speed, wipers on intermittent, etc. However, the liquid was not hot at all. not even warm. it has a bitter slightly sweet taste, but no particular oder I could discern. probably engine coolant, but I'm still not certain. wind screen cleaning solvent maybe? I will let you know what I find, please offer any suggestion.

I dont have your problem but my VIN number is a bit damp from inside, like condensation...no water/moisture inside whatsoever

Sorry I missed this. This is a heater core (as you likely know by now) or some hose leading to it sprung a leak.
@@DadsDriveway nope, it was the clutch master cylinder. It's fixed, now. I don't recommend tasting DOT3 brake fluid.
