The best part about this car is the hood closes. Subaru should have just put this engine in everything haha I’m a huge Subaru fan but this is the shit.
Haha limited by injector size, I wanna do this swap bad. It’s like the perfect motor for this car. Plus it runs, and doesn’t throw a rod out the block every 10k miles haha. Well mine does I think this with a uneven header would make it kinda sound like a Subaru but these motors are legit. My wife’s car has one and I’m thinking of going sti tranny and running gear swap in the pilot as there is no manual version available for awd. It revs to the moon though
Why did you pick a j over a k series? Just unique or any obvious benefits? Would love a k or j series subaru, just not sure which would be ideal. How is engine bay space for both? What did you have to do for oil pan?
J series makes much more tq over a k series and is cheaper and easier to find due to it being in so Many cars and suv's. In a max effort build 6 cyl will go further with power over a 4 cyl engine. The k series will stick out of the hood more from what I have seen but I have not personally done a k. I've had my fair share of 4 cyl engines and I wanted to do a 6cyl. Stock oil pan fits. I've used stock and a moroso pan in this swap.
@@biggmanarthur I assumed the k24 would stick out more since it's longer. Surprised the stock oil pan fits, but that's nice to hear. New videos coming soon?
The engine has forged pistons and rods, upgraded valve springs and head studs. Otherwise stock. I don't know the cost I didn't keep track. Just know it was worth it for me

I really want to see a build with the new j series that lost vtec but got dohc
That would be very expensive to get that engine with it being so new lol.

Nope..this was a built motor i bought off fb market place which ended up being garbag.
Which version of the J series are you using, or what vehicle did it come out of?
