    Love your camera angle. Gives you a feeling you’re actually riding the bike. PS. I’ve got a 2004 LT, and I love it. Supreme German engineering.

      Thanks for commenting JazmacL. They're a great bike. There was quite a bit of vibration from a cheap Chinese camera mount which I have since replaced. More and better footage to come.

      They're a great bike, Cecil, and aren't expensive. There's usually plenty of them on ebay to have a look at and compare.
      Have a good Christmas and New year.

    You should put up the names of the wee villages and towns as you go through them. I keep studying the sign posts to see where you are. Great videos. 👍

      We need another pandemic to get us going again 😂

    Nice video.nice bike. Does your LT have reverse? I know some do, but I am uncertain what years the LT introduced the reverse gear. I ride a K1600 GTL 018 model. It has reverse but no electric center stand. It is a great bike at speed, but a beast around the car parks. Great video, stay upright and enjoy.

      Cheers Ron. We do indeed have reverse gear, and I've been grateful for it on many occasions. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Just found your really nice video, showing how unexpectedly nimble these beasts are at speed . . it's a real pity that the general road quality here in the UK is awful, compared to the roads in your video (grounding noises most rides). Also, I'm thinking that you're really tall 🙄. . .as unlike you, the top box rack on my 2007 K1200LT LUX is at the same level as the top of my chest . . and I'm just under 6' . Out of interest do you find the riders' footpegs a tad too high ? . . . or have I got it completely wrong and the older 12's have a lower centre stand than the newer ones.🤔🤔🤔

      @AlistairCampbell1047cc  Год назад

      Nick, thanks for watching and commenting. I'm not sure about the newer LT's regarding height. I'm 6' 1" if that throws any light on the situation. I have always found the riding position a little peculiar on the LT. I'm never quite sure whether to have the saddle on the low or high setting. I just chop and change as the notion takes me. 👍

    193 km on 15.16 liters = 12.73 km per liter ( which works out to be 29.94 mpg US or 36 mpg Imperial ) Unless I calculated the figures incorrectly .

    • @AlistairCampbell1047cc
      @AlistairCampbell1047cc  Год назад +1

      Sorry Stew, my fault. I didn't say on the video that it was 193 miles, not kilometers. We haven't quite fully committed to the metric system here in Northern Ireland.
      Thanks for commenting.

      That is excellent mpg then for a 1200 . I'm actually looking at that model but have reservations about the high maintenance costs or perceived high maintenance costs . Some are saying that BMW have a lot of electrical issues but its hard to know what to believe . Thank you !@@AlistairCampbell1047cc

    If i may ask, the maintenance of this bike, is it reasonably affordable or you really have to have deep pocket to mantain the bike?

    • @AlistairCampbell1047cc
      @AlistairCampbell1047cc  4 месяца назад +1

      Hi, thanks for watching and commenting. The maintenance of the LT is very reasonable. That is because it requires very little maintenance. I change the engine oil and filter regularly. The filter costs £10(approx)
      All other service parts are available on eBay for a reasonable price.
      It's a great bike and easy to maintain.

      @@mthokozisizulu2879 i have one since a while . its rly pricy and high maintenance , the abs is a pain in the ass, wheels have to be changed every 10-15k kms cuz bike is top heavy , drains battery a lot from the alarm . my bike went out of a barn and i maintained it myself .
      Its u have skills its cheap but if not its rly pricy esp for the abs maintenance and flush at bmw .
      still a great bike , my favorite
