This song is a master piece. I have heared it propably 1000 times and I still love it. This song was the only way to soothe my teething 1 year old, so I had it on loop all night to actually be able to sleep.

In my opinion, "Memento mori" (Remember you are mortal) can interpreted in two ways:
    1. Be careful, you only live once!
    2. F***K it, you only live once!
I always prefered the second interpretation, and as I know Feuerschwanz, they are right up that road , too. Or, to say it in another way: "It wasn't smart, but it wa fun!" 😉

This song is basically a continuation of "Das Elfde Gebot" from the previous album. The Whole Memento Mori album is fire. I rate it as the best album of 2021.
Thanx for checking these out out. Just have to love their energy.

You should definitely checkout also "Ultima Nocte" bei Feuerschwanz.
And live they are even more awesome. Shot them at M'era Luna Festival and their amount of pyro effects was insane.

    Awesome reaction!
Let's go with the *insane* geekiness: As far as I can tell it's the Narsil version, I have this laughably unusable brute of a stainless steel hunk somewhere around here (you try wielding this after having used an Albion Ringeck Type XVa which shares some optical aspects🤣)... since it's a wallhanger (i.e. a SLO - a sword like object) it has despicable balancing and laughable weight, though it *is* (in the prop version) an Oakshott type Xa but huge.
Anduril is the "Flame of the West" - Narsil is the "Red and white flame" - the runes in Quneya on Andurils blade say: "Sun. I am Andúril who was once Narsil, sword of Elendil. The slaves of Mordor shall flee from me. Moon".
Blablablabla... it's just a joke prop essentially because, while one of the rare halfway serious songs they have they are mostly a loving parody (and nevertheless part of) of the German medieval metal scene.^^
    Best regards
    Raoul G. Kunz

Since you like latin and you enjoyed Warriors of the World, i think you should look into Saltatio Mortis (latin for Dance of Death). Their singer was part of the Warriors of the World cover too and they have amazing versions of gaming songs, like My Mother told me (Assassins Creed Vikings), The Dragonborn comes ( Skyrim), Pray to the Hunter (Elder Scrolls online). Or check out some of their originals like Nie allein (Never alone), Loki, or a live version of Spielmann's Schwur (gleeman's oath).

I realize I am five months late with my comment, but as I really enjoy your reactions, I thought I'll leave a bit of background info. "Memento Mori" and "Carpe Diem" are both quotes that originate in the Baroque Era (1600-1750). They deeply mirror the mindset of the people who lived in tumultous times. The thirty years war (1618-48), reformation and counter-reformation, illnesses, plague, poverty etc. were ever present. Memento mori can be roughly translated as "Remember that you must die." One's own transience should always remain conscious. Contrasted with this is Carpe diem, which roughly means "seize the day." So the focus here is on life and not death. The motif encourages you to enjoy life and not think too much about death.
Coming back to Memento Mori from Feuerschwanz, this is the continuation of "Das Elfte Gebot", which has "Carpe Diem" as the guiding theme ("Because the Eleventh Commandment bids you to live as if death awaited you tomorrow, as if is death already upon you").
Feuerschwanz is one of my alltime favourite bands, so excuse me nerding about them. The bands of the folk/historical/medieval metal scene often identify as bards who want to bring stories to the people. They often sing about fairytales, historical events, legends etc. And Feuerschwanz ususally does this in a humorous and / or satirical way.
Ben (the singer with the long blond hair) also has a second band called d'Artagnan, which is a little less metal and more folk rock oriented, if you want to check it out.
Hans (the guitarist) and Jenny (the red haired performance artist and harpist) also have a second project together with Melissa Bonny (from Ad Infinitum) as well as the drummer from Amaranthe, called The Dark Side of the Moon, which is straight nerd metal. They cover songs from The Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and Harry Potter and they are currently working on their first studio album.

Memento Moti is a very popular art theme in the14th to 18th century, it means "be aware you will die" And yes, just like Walpurgisnacht (S4 or so)

You should listen to saltatio mortis "my mother told me" and "pray to the hunter"

Dude! I appriciate your enthusiasm but you either listen to a guitar solo or you don't! But to stop TWICE only to fantasize about going out dressed like them, while the guitarist is playing a solo over a Gregorian "Dies Irae" (some more latin for you) is damn disrespectful!

i understand your viewpoint, but that's the easiest way to get a copyright strike. 3 strikes=no channel.
