CMD+8*, not CMD+9 - CMD+9 is different. By design, CMD+9 is reserved for a shortcut to the right most position (which makes some sense, given that new tabs CMD+T always are added to the right - thus an easy way to go back to the top of the queue might be useful after a CMD+1...2 pushed you deep into the stack). Great video William - would love to grab a coffee next time you're in London! Next video, KM 11? You know I HAVE to ask...
I've just set up the first group tab. RUclips is for my early morning productivity music playlist, another one about purple poison (don't ask), and Gardeners World - all for mince pies
I love your videos and I've watched many (most?) of them. But I think you left out one of your trademarked lines on this one -- where you say this is "for writers, like you and me." Do you realize the power of that line?! It makes me feel good, and included, every time I hear it. LOL
I am astounded: how could I do that? Sorry. I worry that the opening and closing spiels are a bit long but I think they're important too. I'll watch out for that in future. Thank you for saying this.
I listened twice, and then had to put on CC to find out you were in Manchester. I hope the gig went well this morning. Alas, I really do not use Safari, but I'm a lot more aware of what I am missing. Thank you. BTW, I rarely have 9 tabs open. Trying to simplify on this end.
Firefox always seemed oddly heavy to me, I don't know why. Plus they keep updating it so that at the start of a sentence it's Firefox version 77, by the end of the line it's Firefox 82.
Why not just use Control tab ?? seems to work for as many tabs as you have open?? I tried with 40 ~ And close each with command W - if you click on the desk top you can tab through all your open apps. and close the them with command Q
Control-Tab steps you through each one at a time where Command-digit goes straight to the fourth, the fifth or whatever. Unless you have Keyboard Maestro, which I do, and then when you press Control-Tab you get an old Cover Flow-style view of your apps. I didn't know that until just now when I tried it because of your saying this. I don't know that I'll ever use that Keyboard Maestro version but it was fun to see.

What's KM 11? (he asked, innocently... tries to keep a straight face...)
As far as cmd-0, that key is reserved for when you zoom a page. If you zoom, say 120% for some reason, then hit cmd-0 to return to normal (100%).
Oh! Thank you, that's great.

I don't need to ask about purple poison. I've got all their albums.
The profiles and tab groups are amazing. Having a profile and tabs for work and different aspects of work is great.
I swear by Tab Groups and yet I keep not using profiles, as much as I rate them, as much as I recommend them. I must get back to them.

May I ask what you do use? And thank you, yes: Manchester was a very brief thing about TV history and I had a good time.
@@WilliamGallagher I use Firefox primarily, and Safari on my iPad. I could probably do better.

@@WilliamGallagher And now I'm on 122.0
OK, I've now watched this a second time, going to try to make Safari my main browser on the new pink one....this is going to take some learning.
I do like Safari very much but if you prefer another browser, they all have strengths and weaknesses, I think.
I've been using the Safari Tech Preview and it's working quite nicely. Profiles are brilliant, too!
I keep switching back and forth and I don't know why: I should just move to the Technology Preview and be done with it, shouldn't I?
@@WilliamGallagher It does seem stable. 👍

Oooh, I didn't know that: thank you.
