So glad you guys got out to Shoshone Point! This is Mindy, the CCO of Grand Canyon Conservancy. It was a Bighorn Sheep you saw out there. I hired him to sit there and prevent you from going out to the point. ;-)
The live chat was too much fun! We all got to experience Seth laying eyes on the canyon for the first time, together ❤ we may be more excited than he was. Whew, this episode was fun but got really deep at times. I like hearing the more personal, emotional sides of family stories, we can all relate in some way. Thank you for being honest and vulnerable Josh.
I like that, Josh has stories of flying in a doorless helicopter to Emerald mines in Columbia and being on a boat before a hurricane, but hiking up the Grand Canyon is what almost killed him. That should be an PSA for the Grand Canyon
i love josh gad! this is the first episode i have looked forward to since tig notaro's, though i do listen to the ones with people i do not care about because i really enjoy the openings with just josh and seth (and then unfortunately because i am a completionist, i then have to listen to the whole thing no matter how boring the person is). i know seth does not like musical theatre, but the next logical question is, andrew rannells when????
Hearing Josh talk about his trips to the Florida theme parks reminded me of my family trips! I forgot about Boardwalk and Baseball! And EPCOT in the 1980s rocked! My favorite ride: Horizons - "If we can dream it, we can do it.”
I was YELLING "Boardwalk and Baseball! Boardwalk and Baseball!" when he mentioned the place. 😂 My family went there on a trip to Orlando once... I guess because my dad is a big fan of baseball? Also, I loved the talk of 80s EPCOT, but I was disappointed he didn't talk about the World Showcase. A) the country pavilions are cool and probably something the Meyers would have enjoyed, and B) the dichotomy between the two parts of EPCOT has always struck me as hilariously bizarre.
My parents just got back from visiting the Grand Canyon for the first time, and my siblings and I all received this text from my Dad: "I need promises from my children that you will never take my grandchildren to the grand canyon, at least until they are adults." 😂 So, my dad won't let me go. That's my excuse. P.S. My dad is a huge Steelers fan. He'd talk to your dad FOR DAYS about Pittsburgh. (Love the podcast. Appreciate that it's kid friendly at least 90% of the time. 😂)
I love the podcast! I listen to it when driving and love it - I am smiling and laughing (and I bet my fellow drivers are wondering what is going on with me) so it makes my drive very enjoyable. Love the family dynamic, how much you care for each other and how positive you all are - Thanks for sharing! now we also get to see you!!! And Josh, love the songs!
Now I want a remake of "City Slickers" starring the Meyers brothers and their manly buddies (you will have to decide which one plays the Jack Palance character). We will watch them learn life lessons as they deal with rain, a lethargic ram, and gorp. Get me in touch with Lorne so I can pitch this to him!
Josh Gad was on a hilarious show I used to watch called 1600 Penn where he played the son of the president. I absolutely loved it and was bummed that it got canceled after one season.
Josh GAD - I'm so moved by ur vulnerability & fascinated with ur history, thank you for sharing. Josh MEYERS - I am DELIGHTED by the Sublime parody, what an honor to bestow onto the Gad ❤
Wow, I’m catching up on episodes and so I just saw the Kathryn Hahn ep yesterday and thought it was exceptionally good and so much fun. Now I’ve been gifted a second evening in a row with insane and hilarious content from Josh Gad 😂 What amazing experiences he had, even if a lot of them (burlesque, LV clowns, and purposely helicopter stalls by his uncle in Columbia lol) would have given me heart attacks as a kid lol. I’m not really into celebrity bio/memoirs usually but I’m definitely going to be looking for his 😅. I can’t help wondering what kinds of things will happen in the second half of his life lol!
Ok, I'm watching this after I already listened earlier, but i remembered something mildly relevant! Boardwalk and Baseball, as identified by others, was in fact the random theme park west of Walt Disney World in Winter Haven, Florida. BEFORE it was a baseball themed park it was a place called CIRCUS WORLD. I don't remember much of it because I think i was younger than 6 or 7 when i went, but i do remember from family pictures that you could participate in circus themed activities. The only one i remember for sure was high flying acrobats things and maybe tight rope walking! Talk about random!!
How strange, for me (59-year old Canadian woman) think of Epcot, I think of all the wonderful, international food and fun international-type souvenirs to look at! 😂
Hasa dega E-bo-why is hilarious! I listened to Book of Mormon soundtrack on repeat for two years. I've started asking Mormons that come to my neighborhood what they think of the Show😂❤
I want to have conversations with Josh about being a child of divorce. I've always wanted to write a book about my sisters and I begging my mother for a divorce. It's a hard road to be emotionally intelligent with a broken childhood.

This was intense! A totally new side of Josh Gad and the show.
This was such an unexpectedly wonderful episode.
This was one of my favorite Meyers Brothers! Starting with Grand Canyon to your fabulous guest! Thankies
I didn't know I could respect and love Josh any more than I already did. Thank you for this conversation.
This was exceptional - thank you for sharing with us. What dedication to the podcast to film and record audio at the GRAND CANYON!!!👏👏👏
Sooo happy you guys checked out the hole in the ground!
Time for a river trip? Gotta look UP now instead of down!
I almost cried laughing seeing them at the canyon with all their podcasting gear 😂

😂 true
Josh Gad was a great guest, and the trip to the Grand Canyon was just the cherry on top!
My favorite part is how Josh has to carry the backpack full of stuff while Seth just casually holds a microphone. That's big brothering done right.

I am glad that you went and liked it! It is such an amazing place!
Btw, during an unfortunate major depressive episode I endured, Meyers Bros podcast was the only thing comforting me until it passed. Thank you.
Best one yet!❤

I gasped in happiness when I saw Josh's name 😂❤
Exceptional... OUTSTANDING!
So, thunder is the sound of lightning, no?
Ah, a Jackal who remembers how after 78 comments in Corrections, we still didn't have a consensus about this.

I almost did a spit take when you played the audio of you too seeing the ram. LOL!
Josh was so fascinating! I felt bad as his allergies seemed to get worse thru the interview...😊
Very funny. Thanks from CANADA 🇨🇦

Ansiosa para ouvir as histórias do Josh Gad
Is it just me or is there supposed to be a related song by Josh at the end?
Who else knew Good Night Moon was coming? 😊😂😂

0:30 How about the winner chooses the location of the next draft, and the loser has to help organize it?
