Surely, those Hong Kong employers should paid their nursing/caring staff double if they have bona fide nursing qualifications and experiences from their native country. Six thousand for a qualified nurse? Very exploitative, especially when that employer admitted that she would have to pay HK$40,000 to 50,000 for a local nurse. My niece pays double to the more long-serving carer (after three years) and promise the second one incremental increase to the same amount depending on her performance.
It is supply and demand in action. I agree that we should never under pay care staff because you want them to feel good about their jobs too but realistically a lot of HK elderly won’t be able to afford this level of care. The elderlies in this video all seem middle class living in big apartments with daughters/sons who care about their well being. Sadly to say I bet most people won’t be able to pay these nurses comparable salary.
Let's be real Maria should deserve a lot more than only $6,000 Hong Kong money please 🙏 if I am the owner I will give her at least $12,000 HK💰 There is a lot of work to care for this 80 years old man😡
