It's pretty clear that she still has an Indian accent, but maybe it's not as thick as most Indians. I don't know what the big deal is. I've heard her conduct interviews in English in India and she sounds the same. A lot of it has to do with education, your surroundings, movies, music, influences, etc etc. My knock on Priyanka is that she's a little too overconfident or conceited, and that won't come across well in interviews. Whereas Deepika is more shy and reserved, especially when she's abroad. All this is new to her in terms of it being in Hollywood as opposed to Bollywood.
there is literally also the fact PRIYANKA WAS MISS WORLD and those girls in international beauty pageants are literally coached in their speech and that's why they all sound similar, especially when they win because they have dialect coaching to be as close to the Queen's English as possible. As someone who is 5'9...very few women go past 5'7 to the point that the tall sections available in stores only fit girls 5'7 and shorter. 5'8 is tall enough to have trouble finding pants.

cut her some slack. I'm a huge Deepika fan (American married to an Indian) It wouldn't have mattered if she was from India or America, this is the kind of talk show that James runs. It's light hearted and he likes to get involved with the guests, especially if they have some background in dancing and singing. She adapted just like the rest of the actors that he has on the show! Deepika as we know, is an International superstar. I trust she and her management have prepared well. Her job is not to show up at every interview giving a history lesson on Indian Culture. She gave the context in which this made up dance came about, so no one mistook it as something authentic. As I said it's the type of thing we see him do with all his guests. She did great!

It's pretty clear that she still has an Indian accent, but maybe it's not as thick as most Indians. I don't know what the big deal is. I've heard her conduct interviews in English in India and she sounds the same. A lot of it has to do with education, your surroundings, movies, music, influences, etc etc. My knock on Priyanka is that she's a little too overconfident or conceited, and that won't come across well in interviews. Whereas Deepika is more shy and reserved, especially when she's abroad. All this is new to her in terms of it being in Hollywood as opposed to Bollywood.
there is literally also the fact PRIYANKA WAS MISS WORLD and those girls in international beauty pageants are literally coached in their speech and that's why they all sound similar, especially when they win because they have dialect coaching to be as close to the Queen's English as possible. Priyanka sounds similar to how Aishwarya and Sushmita sound, especially when they were younger. It's ridiculously stupid to be so hateful and so full of internalized racism that you take it out on a girl that's doing more in this world than you can ever accomplish as a keyboard warrior.

It's light hearted and he likes to get involved with the guests, especially if they have some background in dancing and singing. She adapted just like the rest of the actors that he has on the show! Deepika as we know, is an International superstar. I trust she and her management have prepared well. Her job is not to show up at every interview giving a history lesson on Indian Culture. She gave the context in which this made up dance came about, so no one mistook it as something authentic. As I said it's the type of thing we see him do with all his guests. She did great!
