    Literally absolutely cried like a baby the entire last episode of the show. The finally being able to show emotion because Anthony is free to without control, was overwhelming. So so glad he’s doing so much better ❤

      That was the moment I cried. Finally being able to show emotion because he had to be detached to survive the abuse. I hope he is able to build a good life for himself. He has been given a second chance.

      I feel like listening to Anthony , he is really articulating and navigating philosophizing really amazingly well considering he experienced isolation for so much of his young life. If I could just speak to him I’d say you are inspiring and keep up the good work, it’s difficult what you’re doing but you are worth the effort

    It's nice to see his nervous ticks are gone. I recognize those ticks the eye blinking was in place of crying and touching his face and wrenching his hands. It takes many years of feeling safe to stop those actions.

    This is just a testament for us single MOMs that sometimes its better to keep away our kids from deadbeat dads. Not all dads deserver a place around their kids. If your kids are rejected or witness violence towards the mom, its time to keep them away from these type of men. Protect your kids mental health, even from FAMILY.

      I get your point but he was not raised or affected by a single mom. His mother and father were his biological parents. She brought her kids from a previous marriage into this situation and they were not harmed at all. His father went on to marry another woman when he was very young, so yes, he had a stepmother, but no single mom affected his life.

    Hi, my name is Michael McKee. This is my sons account. I just wanted to say it’s nice to see that you continue to be doing well. However, I’m a therapist and I do have some concerns take it for what it is because you are your own man. What I see is that you are still shutting down and pushing people out of your life because it’s too hard to deal with some of the memories and traumas that you’ve experienced. Therapy, and as you said, the right therapist will help with that and so I would encourage you to keep looking for the right therapist. We all are extremely proud of you and very few people think of you in a negative manner even though I know sometimes that’s not what you believe. Hang in there and keep fighting for yourself and know that your attorney has your best interest in mind at all times. It’s OK to not be the type of person who likes to talk all the time, but it’s not OK to shut the world out around you and I know you got used to that for a lot of years. Take good care of yourself always and know we are all routing for you and can’t wait to see you kick ass in life!

It’s just helping your brain to grow until it stops at about age 25. Sorry to hear you’re not in touch with your mother and grandmother. They had so many pictures of you before the age of five that showed you were happy , loved and cared for by them. Well maybe one day after you have finished taking care of your priorities. You were so fortunate to have had Ambeau as your attorney, what a blessing! Keep up the good work. Blessings to you.

    I am so happy that Anthony is doing well. I do think, especially having lived such a sheltered life as he did, and after seeing this interview, that he would benefit greatly from something like road trips, seeing nature, going to national parks and seeing all the beauty and wonder that is out there. Nature has been healing for me before and I think it could be for him as well. I think he needs to feel STRONG emotions, like a shock to his system that makes him want to push for more and provides him with a sense of ambition. He mentioned he is spiritual, and I think seeing the beauty that is out there could be cathartic for him, given his spirituality, and be a gateway for him to improve his outlook on life, all aspects of life, greatly. This is also something that doesn’t necessarily require a lot of money. I wish him the very best! He deserves it.

    The documentary was amazing and it absolutely broke me seeing him cry at the end. You could tell the whole time that he suffered from social skills and with his education and the way he was taught and brought up that he really didn’t know any other resolve to the situation then what he had to do to his father. Im just glad you were there to help the justice system see that too. And I think it’s important for him to remain unemployed if that’s what he wants. He needs to have a chance to live his life and have somewhat of an experience of what his childhood could have been. From being so deprived then thrown in jail to immediately working right after must have been more of a burden on him then to take the time to heal and recover and live a life he’s never been able to. So glad to see Al the good that has come out of this story.

      I think his mom might have cared but at the age that he is now that emotional connection was not there because they didn't get to strengthen it. At the end, whether we want to accept it or not, he is a sociopath. I cant blame him for it, i mean, his upbringing made him who he is NOW. He said it: he chooses who he has feelings for and who not for. He is able to act like nothing happened in order to move on. I think under supervision he can live well life, but he will require monitoring. He doesn't really have ambition to improve in life, at least that's my thoughts after seeing this interview.

    • @jenw.1412
      @jenw.1412 11 месяцев назад

      @WendyHernandez-tz1pr I believe is extreme antisocial behaviors do align with a sociopath diagnosis however I don't believe he is without a conscious. I believe he knows right from wrong and he doesn't go out of his way to hurt to people on purpose. A sociopath will hurt people or animals physically just because they want to and not see the wrong in it and/or just not care they've done it.

    • @jenniferwaguespack2991
      @jenniferwaguespack2991 10 месяцев назад +6

      I totally agree with you. I am a mental health nurse and he lacks empathy. Which isn’t his fault because he’s a product of his environment. He will never be what we would consider a normal person in society, emotionally healthy: He definitely lacks healthy emotional responses to situations that require someone to feel emphatic or sympathetic towards others. But at least he acknowledges he doesn’t really feel emotions, he said he is numb to emotions. Which in turn is very sad because that does make him more that of a sociopath. And he also doesn’t want to work on himself to try and become someone with compassion. Hopefully he can live a life of what he considers peaceful. Without intense therapy of self awareness and awareness of how others feel, which is having empathy for other people, he will go through life feeling numb and never having the real feeling of joy. He doesn’t seem to want to try and achieve a higher level of emotions for himself or anyone else. He will live in the trauma phase for the rest of his life unless he seeks help for how to grow emotionally within himself. He doesn’t seem interested in becoming emotionally stable and being able to feel happiness for others or even feeling thankfulness for others. His dad is an awful human for what he did to this young man. We can just pray God touches his soul at some point for him to want to reach a healthy emotional bond with himself and others. This was very sad to watch because he seems unbothered that he had no attachment with his own emotion of feeling happiness. I hope one day he’s able to connect with others on a deeper level emotionally.

I was glad to see some emotion near the end of the documentary, I cannot highly enough recommend EFT and EMDR therapies that can let him face, feel, and purge his past, and move on with less problems. Therapy should have been a court order with his sentence. Maybe even a stay in a clinic. You can see through the whole documentation how damaged he is, and in my eyes he still is. They way he speaks about work, his family, therapy..., shows, how much he still has to work on himself. But if he refuses therapeutic help, it's gonna be a lot harder and longer way. People here who thinking his authistic are wrong. He is just still so traumatized and didn't really worked on his trauma. But Jarrett Ambeau, you are an excellent attorney and a wonderful man.

    You are BOTH such amazing souls. Despite Anthony's terrible upbringing and what happened , you were destined to meet. I feel such a bond between you. More than brothers. My father had a grade 6 education. He grew up abused and was beaten every day until he ran away, worked as dishwasher and then and joined the navy. Fast forward he became a very successful man. Used to make his own cryptic crosswords . One made the New York Times back in the 70s. Anthony deserves love , encouragement and peace and he shall achieve everything . God bless to you both from Canada.🇨🇦

    Compliments on helping this young man -- really impressed with the compassion you display and the intelligence and intuition in approaching the case and resolution of it. I hope he continues to get guidance as he has much ground to gain. Essentially you rescued a child, who hadn't learned how to deal with life, with people, with being a part of society. Maybe a trade school would be helpful, lots of high-paying jobs without college - lots of people graduating college today that can't find a job to support them well.

    People are saying he's doing well; it seems like he went from one extreme to another.... he does have to go through the development things he wasn't allowed to. He seems that he may feel a bit superior to others as in " on my level "
    I would like to see an update in 5 years. He is going through a the things he wasn't allowed to in development. He seems emotionally like a teenager who thinks he knows more than most. He has been through alot but... its a big but, he remind me very much of an arrogant teenager. He was never allowed to be that so it makes complete logical sense that he will move through the mindsets that we all did. He may be 22-25. His demeanor to me seems similar to 13-16. Any one think this applies?

He's quite LAZY LIVING OFF HIS HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF $$$$$ FROM PEOPLE THAT WORK THEIR "SHITTY ASS JOBS"... MY GOD HE'S WHAT, 22 YRS OLD IF THAT AND HE THINKS HE'S BEEN WORKING TOO LONG AND HE'S SICK OF IT!!! SMFH THIS GUY HAS ZERO CLUE WHAT WORK IS!!! I HOPE PEOPLE STOP GIVING THIS LAZY, INGRATE MONEY....IF THEY WANT TO DONATE THEY SHOULD GIVE THEIR MONEY TO OUR HOMELESS VETS!! JARRETT ISN'T DOING HIM ANY FAVORS BY KISSING HIS ASS...HE SHOULD BE SAYING "ANYHONY YOU'RE ONLY IN YOUR TWENTIES...EVERYONE HAS TO WORK, 99.9999% OF PEOPLE DON'T HAVE MILLIONS ON A GO FUND ME"!!!!! #STOPGIVINGTHISLAZYINGRATEMONEY

      I do agree with this but I think it's all part of learning and growth and becoming a mature person, he didn't get chance to go through this at what we would usually consider a "normal" age I'd say 14-16 so it does make sense, he has made extraordinary progress even since the last update Jarrett posted where he was constantly nervous ticking still and struggling to smile even when you could tell he wanted to, these things will take a long time but he will get there with a good mentor like Jarrett asking him the questions to make him think "but what if we look at it from this perspective...", hopefully he will have a long, peaceful and happy life

      I agree.... I wish that he would communicate with his mother and family. They've all experienced the same Trauma... He also needs a better Therapist it seems but I hope and pray for his Success and I hope that his attorney continues to be a great mentor for him. I hope that in his Relationships that he doesn't repeat the Trauma and Replicate what his Dad did to him and his Mom to whomever he gets in a Relationship with.... Prayers for Everyone 💯

    I just watched the documentary for the first time. I was married to a control freak and had very similar experiences years ago with the father of my two sons and the distress continued throughout many years with their father. I am so proud of you Anthony and the man you have become. You have such a bright future ahead of you. Live your life to the fullest. And to be able to get an attorney that could understand and relate to the situation you endured for most of your childhood and went above and beyond to get to the truth of the whole situation and give his all is definitely a "one of a kind " of attorney. He is a person who you can trust and confide in which is so important. Almost a father figure and cares deeply about you and your future is definitely a great relationship to build on. You both are very inspiring people. Keep up the great work you both do.❤❤❤

    Anthony-you are an important life-and a really special example to many of us with histories of “hard things”. Resilience. Tenacity. Healthy boundaries. True to self. Willingness to learn and grow. Overcoming obstacles. Self-respect. Personal insight. A healthy degree of scepticism ( I say healthy-because you are your own protector and you get to be that for yourself-Now-when others that should have didn’t). You are a positive example for me. Thank you

    Just finished watching "Just Killed My Dad" and I bawled on the last few scenes, when Anthony at long last was able to express himself and cried. Mr. Jarrett I think would be a friend and a good father figure to him. You have bright future ahead of you boy, just use that new found freedom well and to your advantage. You are not alone, if you need guidance, you have Mr.Ambeau, your step mom and Peyton, most of all you still have your biological mom, grandma and aunt, you can turn to. You are surrounded by people who loves you. They can guide you. Good luck Anthony!

      I agree…narcissistic tendencies are rearing its head. He needs more help, but he doesn’t seem receptive of it, and whoever he is talking to is not leading him in the right path. Very vulnerable to the street life. I pray he is able to live a great life and maybe give his family a chance. Feeling unwanted and unloved, though his mother tried very hard, the trust isn’t there.

    • @latreciaherring1229
      @latreciaherring1229 Месяц назад +1

      I hear it in him too. From about the halfway point of this interview continuing on. He seems not as receptive, or like he feels the need to cut off people or things that might feel like a rejection or not a success. And maybe this is a normal progression for him developmentally … he no longer has to be scared to death to fall in line for a dominating authority figure, he’s almost done being beholden to the courts, and so now he is free to explore choosing his tribe, and like most of us when we were young he is blunt and goes by the character he senses from folks. I don’t know; if nothing else maybe being wary can keep predatory teams away from him. I think about all these young folks who go viral end up on podcast junkets or talk shows and no one is looking out for them except as a famous name. Really thankful for Jarrett but yeah…compared to the first interview I am a little more worried about who else is in his ear.

    Anthony definitely has an exceptional mentor in Jarrett. His attitude needs adjusting, i.e. "I like being unemployed." Humble yourself, Anthony, as the selfless donors didn't contribute so you can live a life of unemployment. You're young, drop the know-it-all attitude, work hard and set goals! Develop an ATTITUDE of GRATITUDE.

He is raising himself I don't think he has a know it all attitude but just an attitude to let people know he is not stupid alot of people know he was not well educated and not even around the outside world he does have gratitude to see something other than the life he had he doesn't express emotions like others but it's well understood everyday life is probably hard for him mentally so like he said he likes his peace
