    😉 most actors today would find this script extremely long but these 2 make it look effortless which shows u just how brilliant they were. 😍❤️😍❤️😎

    I had years of people denying there'd ever been such a thing as "Behind the Fridge". Amazing that it's been all but consigned to oblivion. Not as pioneering as the 60s material, obviously, but fascinating.
    And yes folks, that was its title, an early 1970s spoof of Beyond the Fringe.

    Notwithstanding the sheer brilliance of the lines, the thing that makes me laugh the most is when Dudley right on the edge of losing it completely.

    I assume that everyone else noticed that the funniest part of this whole sketch was the was it was all held together by the underlying theme, which was that Pete was treating Dud as a slave, a housewife. But, as perhaps most women do, he just accepted it.
    Really brilliant! One of the funniest sketches I have ever seen.

  • @simonjenkin

    I love it when when Pete has ad-libbed a line and Dud really wants to crack up.
    He must have felt really emasculated working with the comic powerhouse that was Peter Cook.

    • @lovingsongs1762
      @lovingsongs1762 2 года назад +4

      Dudley emasculated? Hardly. Although his comedy was somewhat more physical, I find him every bit as funny as Peter and, at times, as on an appearance on the Dick Cavett show, Dudley carried ALL of the verbal humor. I admit Peter is a great intellectual comic, but Dudley is no slouch, and I've watched everything these two have done at least twice. Plus, Dudley's talent as a jazz pianist blows me away. Although these two were ahead of my time, I do adore them both and cannot stop watching their sketches again and again, as well as Dudley's piano performances. What a shame we can't clone these two because there will never be another pair like them.

    Always love Pete & dud. Shame they replaced there original character voices with these rather camp, pompous ones. Hmm.

  • @sharlenefix
    @sharlenefix 16 лет назад +1

    Dudley seems to be a bit fed up with Pete in this sketch. Their relationship was very complex and at times strained. Dud is giving up on the accent and seems bored.
