Hi Bogdan. Fabulous to hear, I wish you all the best and safe sailing as you embark upon this career. I will keep making videos to showcase this industry to the world. Enjoy :)
Nice vid, but could you harmonize the volume of music and outside sounds (very loud in comparison) and your voice a little? Especially with earphones the up and down of volume is a bit irritating. Thanks a lot! 😀
Not usually. If the brake is properly maintained it should stop the chain even when running fast. When the water is deeper than 90 feet it's best to walk it out under power. Again proper maintenance is key. At one of the offshore moorings we regularly called we would let go 9 shots all in one go, on a weekly basis with few issues.
Great shots, informative video. Question: Why the &^%$music? Who is watching this video and wants to hear music? Why? Save yourself the trouble of music!!
Very helpful thank you!
Thank you. Mundane things can be fascinating, even anchors and chains.

How long is the anchor chain typically in length on a cargo ship.
Great videos mate 👍
Ship usually have 10 to 14 shackles of chain on each side. A shackle is 90 feet long.
When you run the chain out freely doesn't the weight of the chain and the anchor run too fast preventing the brakes from stopping it ?
