Hi Richard, your point at the 1st few minutes of this video is spot on. It is actually the root cause of a lot of the political shenanigans that the "learned" and "well off" class of the Philippines observed in the past two elections. The majority of the Filipino are just tired mentally and physically (and financially), exhausted and have that great feeling of betrayal of the "elite" class and various "disente" politicians. Napabayaan sila. And there is a great sense of "lahat yang politiko na yan corrupt". It is a great feeling of cynicism and they only value -- or perhaps much more accurate to say that they are forced to value what they get, what they feel and what they perceive from politicians. This would explain the support entertainers get politically. Atleast, napapasaya sila ni Bong Revilla sa pagsasayaw niya. Its a symptom of a politically exhausted population due to corruption and hardships. My sense, you have to fight hunger first and exhaustion of our fellow men before they will have mental and emotional openness to the higher ideals. That said, thank you always for your hard work! The ideals you talk about in your podcast inspire like minded Filipinos who believe the Philippines can be greater and who have not given up yet.

The future will be bright if the PH elites or the "learned" will help the majority of the Filipinos who are suffering -- one at a time perhaps -- not because there is an election, but because PH as a society is becoming more compassionate. Only such seeds will bear fruit in terms of helping Filipinos move away from hollow and obviously corrupt popular politicians.

Sa araw araw na balita na wala naman maganda sa pasama ang future eh parang gusto namin na dito na lang sa abroad mag retire at tumanda. Ibebenta na lang namin ang mga properties dyan sa pinas. Sa health care pa lang walang wala ang pinas kumpara mo dito sa abroad ay may libre at maayos. Sa pinas ay hohothotan ka ng mga doctor. Nakakalungkot isipin na wala ng makabayan at mapagmahal sa kapwa pinoy. Kung meron ay iilan. Kaya kung di mababago ang maayos na political system ay malamang sa dito na kami mamamatay at yayakapin na lang namin ang Spain kung saan kami naninirahan ngayon. Maraming Salamat.
