9/2/24: Gulf Coast Still on Alert as System May Form

Forecast models continue to show a signal for tropical development in the Caribbean Sea later this week, but there have been significant changes in the longer term forecast. This system could still become a hurricane in the western Gulf next week, but that part of the forecast is more uncertain.
