  • Enshrouded gameplay with DeLindsay. After a bunch of testing, I can now confirm the Flame Altar level is 100% tied to the World, independently of the Flame Altar. This means after Upgrading it to Level 6, you can actually Extinguish that Altar and the World will still retain Flame Level 6.
    You can share your builds on the share-builds-and-saves channel in their Discord.

    It has always been that way, I just think people were confusing Flame Level with Upgrade Level.

    • @delindsay
      @delindsay  4 месяца назад

      It was NOT that way during the Demo, I'm 100% positive because we had heated discussions with CUB on Discord about it.

      @@YarnellCrew No worries, I saw someone asking about it on Discord recently, which is why I decided to test it for myself and this video is the result. So there are at least a few people out there that don't realize you can move the Flame Altar without losing the Flame Level.

    This is fantastic news man, great vid. Upgrading for base size is easy, so knowing this makes moving bases a lot less stressful now. :D

      Agreed and I was shocked that the Flame Level even stayed with NO Flame Altar. I'm glad the Devs changed it between the Demo and EA.

      Honestly, I was too. Hadn't moved my OG Altar since day 1 of EA. That was until I saw someone ask on Discord the other day which lead to me testing it and thus this video.

    I too noticed the fog of war (what you had previously cleared) moved with your character, if you moved your character to another world (single player). I assumed, therefore, that fog of war is tied to character. My main character has the entire map open now (except for a few tiny bits). If I create a new world and take my main there, the map is clear of fog of war except the same few tiny bits. Perhaps the devs decided that once a character knows the map, they know it in any world (since all worlds use the same map).
    I would like to see the devs preserve the altar/base size as well for the 30 seconds it takes before it poofs. I fiddled with final placement of my main base altar a few times, while it was maxed out in size, trying to get the boundary lines just right. Each move cost me like 30 cores. : P Since the altar already has a 30 second timer before poof, why not give us that 30 seconds to fiddle/fine tune the placement with no loss of altar upgrades?

    • @delindsay
      @delindsay  4 месяца назад

      I'm not bothered by my Character being tied to how much Map has been uncovered it just struck me as odd for some reason.
      And yes, having the size upgrade sticking around for a bit would be nice.

  • @RavenNiffler
    @RavenNiffler 4 месяца назад +2

    Oh I was hoping you meant Upgrade Level.

    • @delindsay
      @delindsay  4 месяца назад

      Unfortunately no and hopefully the Devs will at least give us a compromise like say it loses 1 Level or none at all if moving WITHIN the boundary of the initially upgraded Altar.

  • @D-d-dvon
    @D-d-dvon 4 месяца назад +1

    Yeah the flame level is consistent and passes on to any new altars you build once you upgraded it before. So if yours is 3, and you go off exploring and build two new altars, they'll both drop at 3

    • @delindsay
      @delindsay  4 месяца назад

      That part we all knew, what people kept asking about (someone asked on Discord just the other day) is whether the EXACT Flame Altar that was upgraded to say Flame Level 6 could be extinguished as the Player no longer wanted an Altar in that location. This is what led me to test it out.

    • @D-d-dvon
      @D-d-dvon 4 месяца назад +1

      @@delindsay
      I'll be honest, I was confused as to what you were saying when you said the EXACT flame altar. But I think what you meant is that people were wondering if the ORIGINAL flame altar that had an upgraded flame could be extinguished without losing flame progress across the map, correct?
      Not trying to get into semantics here or be a hard ass. Legit question. Because in that framing, it's actually good information to know

    • @delindsay
      @delindsay  4 месяца назад +1

      @@D-d-dvonYou are correct, I meant the exact Flame Altar that was upgraded. That's what I was testing, whether THAT specific Altar could be removed and another Altar placed somewhere else without losing the Flame Level and thus all the materials it cost to upgrade it.

    Is it character based, or world based?
    With that I mean, where is the determining bit linked. Might be equivalent, but separate.
    In any way, nice observation :)

    • @delindsay
      @delindsay  4 месяца назад

      It has to be World based as this was a brand new created World just for this test. That's evident in that I had zero fast travel points and even the Quest to go find the Blacksmith.
      The fact that my Map didn't have fog of war is odd and clearly Character based as that is exactly what I've uncovered on that specific toon.
