Mate, the intro is fukin great. Also big LOVE for putting all the info for every year. Is a good idea to do top openings per decade, do u have a top 150 all time?
17:04 Miyuki is an underrated classic by Mitsuru Adachi about a boy named Masato. He is caught between the romance of two girls that are both named Miyuki, but only one of them will be his true love.
18:55 I love Lupin the Third, and part 3 is my favorite of the bunch. Most people don’t like its pastel colors and goofy art style, but I find it fitting because of the decade’s fashion. The theme song “Sexy Adventure” is such a bop, and my profile pic is Inspector Zenigata!

No "Lum No Love Song" or "Pajama Jama Da"? Really? "Lum No Love Song" was voted the top OP in the 1981 "Animage Grand Prix." How did it miss this list? Surely, this must be rectified.
Time to test our compatibility! This time I'll drop my list before watching: Derringer - Cat's Eye ... That's it. 😝 Before 1984 is a whole lot of "uh..........." for me that I can't bring myself to think kick ass. They're so "of a type" that would be a stretch for me to rate. Other than meme-wise, singing "MAAAAA-KUUUU-ROSSSSS" and "GU-N-DAMMUUUUUU" as loud as I can. heh...
I am going to disagree with you there, 1980-84 had a good few openings and shows in general. If you listen to the full version, Srungle has sone amazing openings and endings(the second ending had me in tears with its beauty l) and Baldios was not only a good show, sans the ending, the opening was really epic as well!
@@KingCasual1986 Yes well... ;-) Certainly no comments about show quality herein. It's all theme-related. But like I said initially, the 70's and early 80's hit "so much of a type" for me, most of which I don't like particularly, and some of which I actively detest. I hadn't run across Srungle before, so I'll give OP1 some props for "interestingly different," though it's not "solved" to the point where I'd be looking to listen to it a bunch. The biggest problem for me is the whole "singing with pronounced operatic--space operatic in this case--vibrato used for almost the entirety of the vocal phrases. Usually male, usually particularly louder. But it's the "mecha warble" that kills me. It just comes across as so overwrought, and goofy. Possibly the worst for me is how the dude sings Cha La Head Cha La. But you know... it's a competition in bad. Pronounced vibrato accenting the last 10% of a phrase = good. Vibrato coming in only 10% of the way through = bad. (For the most part.) I have room for precisely one of those, and that's Cross Fight from Dangaioh. It's the same brassy and forward, and employs notable vibrato, BUT...! It is saved by not going AS hard AS often, and most especially by it being a duet, with stronger phrasing from Mitsuko Horie, and actual harmonies going on. I let that one tickle my fancy in that direction, but really the rest just leaves me high and dry. The other tendency for that time period--thin, high-pitched female vocals singing some "sweet ballad" or the like--(Masterpiece Classics, but even OPs like Attack on Tomorrow or Rose of Versailles) also are just... eh. They don't drive me batty, but they certainly don't thrill. You can peruse the following if you're curious about my general taste: www.reddit.com/r/anime/comments/c1dmae/favorite_ops_challenge_edition/ (Needs some link repair. I should really re-do it and drop a new thread. But good enough for government work.)
I would personally put Srungle’s second opening at number 1. That song is epic! The fact that we got that obnoxious garbage Goshogun and we still haven’t gotten Srungle here in the states is frankly insulting. People didn’t like Vehicle Voltron but they still released Dairugger XV in the states uncut!
its interesting looking at some of the "clean" versions, and then watching a "dirty" one, makes you wonder, why bother when so much is lost? seriously, just compare the "clean" Dunbine op(15:39), versus the "old" version ruclips.net/video/ajiAvb_XfNM/видео.html it does look old, but it also feel more pleasant to the eye, due to not lookin like a moving sketch.

8:01 Rampou is a pretty obscure one. There is almost no existing footage other than the opening and one episode without subtitles.
The first half and the last half of the 80s looks like 2 very different decades man
