A lot of imaams in Makkah they go to prostration by knees first.

Because they are Hanbali, the mashur is to knees first although there is another transmission from Imam Ahmad as well

Because they follow the sunnah of Prophet Mohammed SM correctly.

To my understanding. Either is correct. Unless you are humbly going to sit down and stand back up. Some people think knees first and they simply drop. Not good. Some people think hands first and bend so horribly so the behind person get bump.
Rest I would say is that Only Allah knows best.

    Prostrating on Hands
“When the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to prostrate, he used to put his hands on the ground before his knees.”
Ibn Hudaymah (1/76) ad-Daraqutni and Mustadrak al-Hakim. Al-Hakim said that the hadith is sahih and adh-Dhahabi agreed with him. Any hadith that contradicts it is not authentic. Imam Malik is of this opinion. Imam Ahmad is also close to this view. This is also mentioned in Ibn al-Jawzī's book "al-Taḥqīq" (2/108). Imam al-Marwazi, in his book "al-Masā'il" (1/147/1), narrates from Imam al-Awza'i with a auth. sanad that he said: “I have seen people who put their hands on the ground before their knees in prayer.”

The camel has its knees in its hand

Shaykh ibn Utheymeen ‎رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ explained in the commentary of the poem al Bayquniyyah pg. 140-142, and in his Majmu al fatawa vol. 13, pg. 175-179, that the hadith “If anyone of you were to make the prostration, do not kneel like the kneeling of the camel, but place his 2 hands before his 2 knees.” was INVERTED by one of the narrators, and the correct narration is: “…but place his 2 KNEES BEFORE HIS 2 Hands.”
The CAMEL, when it’s about to kneel, DESCENDS with its FRONT LEGS FIRST before its 2 knees of the hind legs, whereby the front part of its body descends before the back. If you were to descend with your 2 hands first, the upper part of ‎your body shall descend before your lower part, then you have resembled the kneeling of the camel.
Some scholars thought that there is no inversion in the hadith and said that the knees of the camel are also present in its two forelegs- and we agree with that, however, the messenger of Allah ‎ﷺ DID NOT SAY: “Don’t kneel UPON WHAT the camel kneels upon.” If he said this, then we would say not to kneel upon the 2 knees first, because the camel descend upon its 2 knees. On the contrary, he ‎ﷺ said: “Do not kneel LIKE the camel kneels.” and the preposition kaf (like) here is for the purpose of simile and between the 2 phrases is a difference in meaning.
So the CORRECT MEANING of his ‎ﷺ statement “Do not kneel like the kneeling of the camel.” is: TO NOT PLACE YOUR 2 HANDS FIRST IN A MANNER THAT WILL CAUSE YOUR UPPER BODY TO DESCEND BEFORE YOUR LOWER BODY. This is due to the fact that the descend for prostration is upon the knees, which is the natural posture. Then, the normal order of what descends is what is closest to the ground, which are the knees, followed by the hands, and then the forehead and the nose.

Looking at someone doing both way, putting your hands first look more like the action of a camel. But Allah knows best.

No, on the contrary, it looks like a camel descending with the knee, and it looks contrary to khusū

There doesn’t seem to be clear evidence commanding one way over the other. It’s the very definition of legitimate difference of opinion.
Fortunately for me it’s not an issue. Ever since my hip problems arose, it’s been difficult for me to go other than hands first.
