just bought and took home my 2024 Sportsman 232 Open yesterday, took it out in some seas that were probably best left alone. My old boat 2022 SH 219 literally would beat you in half the waves. At first it rode just like my old boat and I just couldnt understand why after it was so amazing in the sea trial the day before. I stopped, checked settings and found we had left it in manual. Turned it to auto and everyone onboard was amazed at the difference. After riding on many boats, I highly recommend this boat. Sea keeper and the Sportsman boat's ride doesnt compare to any boat I have been on. Truly amazing. Thanks!!!!!

Nailed it, pretty much improved all the things I don’t like with my current 232 only thing old change is
missed tool holders on leaning post between the rod holders, Garmin transducer isn’t ideal, airmar upgrade still be preferred and Garmin gt51/56 transom mounts, and the rear transom might be hard to mount transom mount transducers with the recessed lip

What is the on the water bridge clearance of the open 232 2024 and how much would the radar satellite weather antenna increase the bridge

I’m kind of surprised at the absence of fishboxes. Obviously the bow seat compartments could be used as such, but the description of them as “dry storage” suggests they might need some modification….

The bow floor box is built into the stringer system and is full insulated. We actually kept several bags of ice and a box of fish all day long just last week. However, the box is not macerated.

@@SportsmanBoatsOffical Ah ha! See, I knew y’all wouldn’t forget something that important. 😆

You’ve got to have storage for fish! You can even use the bow seats if you absolutely have to. They’re insulated as well just not as much as the in-floor box. But if you’re having an incredible day offshore and need extra fish storage you’ll find that they’ll hold perfectly fine to get your catch home fresh. But we’d always recommend using your floor box as much as possible.

What year did this model switch to 20 degree deadrise??

Open 232 was completely redesigned for Model Year 2024. So what you're seeing in this walkthrough is a completely different boat than before. No parts were reused for this model.

Nice boat, but not enough livewell capacity.

      I love you guys...
"Why does it have to have seats? You could put rocket launchers there." 😂😂
"If it ain't engines, fuel, or bait space... I don't need it" 😂😂

@@sicsemper02 hey don't take shots at me because I describe what I would like to see on the boat. That was a manufacturer video, not a customer's video. I would not have commented on someone's personal boat because they can but what they like without my personal opinion. I think a comment to the manufacturer is more than welcome, whether you agree with it or not. Overall, I like the boat but I feel it needs to have more live well. Hopefully the designer will take that comment and improve the boat. If you don't want more live wells, don't add the option.

the open lineup was designed more for the fishing customer, if a customer wants more seats they can order something from the heritage lineup.

@@KJ-md5hv Sensitive… The Open series is the off shore hull. It’s a 23 foot boat that’s designed as a crossover between family and fishing. Not a 100 mile off shore tourney boat for charter captains.
The Masters line is their bay / inshore hull. It’s not more or less of a fishing set up, it’s just a flatter bottom for stability inshore and a shallow draft with the same crossover concept.
That said, a live well on the leaning post wouldn’t be a terrible option.

We appreciate the feedback. Our current design is all based upon fulfilling the needs of family and fishing. Our goal is to provide room for all uses. You’d also be surprised how much bait you can fit inside of the livewell. In a future episode of The Sportsman Experience you’ll see us fill the fish box, catch and release a dozen more and then toss the extra bait before we head in.
