I bought a Delta 15 inch drill likes yours except mine is a 6+6. It only has single grove pulleys. That is 6 speed and 6 inch quill movement. It was 3 phase and no holes in the table. I installed a VFD and a movable cam and switch on the spring side spindle quill for auto motor reversal while tapping at 20hz
Great job! I had one that had a smaller table and it was a great machine. I'd probably still have it if it had your table. And you are right, the post is very time consuming. I built a motorized roller to help but it still takes a while on each one.
I’ve seen at least eight of this model, but never an intermediate pulley like this. There is one available from the factory, but the middle pulley has only two steps. Would be interesting to see more about this one.
