Plus imagine everyone around that witnessed this. The trauma affected so many. Poor child. This mother is so strong to be able to speak throughout all this bs.
@Your Grace First of all if you are a BELIEVER ...God...with a CAPITOL G.....out of respect for Him would be appropriate! You should also change your ID as you show no grace at all! Also God has nothing to do with man made errors! Finally, YES, God can Bless the broken hearted as he did with me when I lost my only child when he was 23 yrs old.
No matter how you lose your child, it hurts. 10 years since I lost my son. He too was 18. I had to be strong because I have a daughter. What helps me with through process, is active service to others to prevent families and friends from trauma like this and so many other traumas.
Words cannot express how sad I am to this mother. Also, to his sister!! I agree with his mom. this ride needs to be taken down. There’s to much stigma now!!!
It looked more like the ride operator was more worried about talking to the girl than checking on the dude who other passengers were saying didn't even look secure.
There is a switchboard that lights up when every seat is locked in. They checked. And it's on video. His harness never unlocked. That's also on record. He was too heavy for the ride but he didn't know. The purpose of the lawsuit is to determine who was at fault for allowing someone who exceeded the manufacturer guidelines to ride. It is not and was never about an employee being distracted. You're barking up the wrong tree.
A couple of weeks before this happened I was at Icon Park. My girlfriend and I looked at the ride and was wondering if we should go on it. I’m a thrill seeker, but something inside me told me not to get on it. I’m 4’11 and I have a feeling that without a seatbelt I wouldn’t have stayed in my seat. After this incident I went back to Icon Park to pay my respects. They need to take this ride down for good. Prayers go out to the family.
This is so sad and maddening. A young kid who had a full life ahead of him died because of some morons who let him ride. He was a large person, rides aren't usually designed for someone like him! Now this poor mother has to cope with a son who was taken away from her.
This is so extremely heartbreaking, gah I can’t even imagine what this mother is going through. I’m so so sorry mama your baby is in heaven flying high 💛
The park is 100% responsible for this poor child's death! Their staff allowed him on that ride without confirming his weight. He was over the weight limit, and the employee still allowed him in that ride. He's a kid OF COURSE he's gonna go ride to ride to find something he's allowed to be on. I'd sue tf out of them too, their son would still be alive today had the employee done like the rest and turned him away!!
The lawsuit is about determining who's at fault. It's not as simple as saying ITS THAT GUY when you have legislation, guidelines, manufacturers, state laws, etc. They need to see who, if anyone, didn't follow their set of laws. It could be the park, the owners, management, the manufacturer, or employee. It could even end up being no one. You can't say. Yes the ride is at this park, but if the law only requires for example that the weight and height be posted on a website, and the owness is on patrons - that could be rough. Or if the manufacturer didn't clearly explain their weight guidelines it could be their fault not the park. Or if the guidelines were listed, it may not be anyone's fault. That's why this lawsuit is happening - but also to improve legislation to make this situation never possible again. But that all depends on where the fault lies.
No one ask why a 14 year old was not accompanied by an adult? No one ask how a 14 year old weighed 300 lbs? Perhaps we need to look at all sides of the issue when distributing the blame.
I disagree that those factor imparticular even matter when the ride itself was the safety issue and people said the person in charge of the ride didn't make sure everyone was securely seated..... that's negligence out right Cause what's an adult gonna do other then watch him slip out next to them or out infont of the ride? And him being his proper weight wouldn't have made him survive the fall any better Or made the seat suddenly be correctly functional And *even if* it was his weight that kept the seat from functioning... if the employee had checked everyone properly then it could have been noticed and he would have been removed Even if we looked at it from All sides to distribute the blame .... the blame for his *death* goes on the carnival
He was like 6’5 and that size, he was obviously genetically a huge kid idiot. His parents watched him fall, being in the ride would have changed nothing you dumb troll. Have fun trolling, what goes around comes around.
My heart breaks for his family. Bless his heart, he knew something was wrong, they say he said tell my Folks I love them to his friends. Breaks your heart for him. My Granddaughter lives in that area. And she loves rides, but said she would never ride rides there, even before this happened.
100% support this lawsuit. I pray she gets a resolution that can save other lives. This ride is terrifying and needs to be tore down if they're not willing to add seatbelts or something. I'd NEVER be flying around at that speed without a proper restraint.
I am so sorry for your loss! Such a horrible way tAnd I am so sorry that you had to get that damn call!! As a mother of two teenagers my heart breaks for you!!!
I was washing windows outside a person fell from water tower I could hear him screaming for about 3 seconds and that ride is more than twice that height.

If this is to be prevented in the future, I think ride operators who use this type of harness will have to set a "size" limit on top of a height limit.
